Broken Tailgate Hinge ?

Hey Guys!
New to this forum and had some questions regarding the "hinge" on the tailgate. I recently lent my truck to a buddy and long story short the "hinge" is now broken or so I think. I have been trying to figure out what is actually "broken" but I can't find a part number or any information on it. The only information I find are for GEN 2s. I stumbled up on this forum and I am hoping you guys can help.

Doesn’t look broken. The part in the middle two pics slides into the grove in the lower picture. Has to be at the 1/4 open point to go in. That is how the tail gate comes off, out that grove and then slides out the other side.

Thank you for the reply. the tailgate opens up when I hit a hard bump not sure if its because of that. I have had the truck for two years now and never had it pop open on its own. I will try and get better pictures in the morning. I am hoping its nothing else

I think COYGunners is right put your tailgate back on and install a worm gear clamp or tailgate lock.

I think there is a plastic circle thing that goes in there that is missing

Go take a tailgate off another F150 and compare.

You have to index it to put it on so that torsion spring works
