My KO2s are shit too. Lots of vibration. I think there is a serious QA issue at BF Goodrich right now.

I'm ready to order as well, my tires have 600 miles on them and figure there's no time like the present. LOL. I like the stock 2019 wheels so will likely stick with the 17" tires, so RGs? 99.82% of my time is highway. Thanks

Agree...or possibly at Ford in their wheel and tire department.

I’ve yet to see a factory wheel and tire with the red dot (or the yellow one depending on your preference) properly aligned over the valve stem. I’ve even seen a few pics of aftermarket wheels and tires here with the tires installed incorrectly.

Don’t know if it’s because I’m coming from a racing background (bicycles, motorcycles, and Spec Miata) where attention to weight and especially rotating mass matters a lot that has me so focused on this aspect of performance, but I think there’s a reason so many people (including me) have been having issues with their stock BFGs... Edit: Or maybe Raptor owners...especially those who actually take their trucks off road...are bending their rims, making them more out of round than average, even if only very slightly.

Maybe BFGs are more out of round than the average tire, or the internal belt construction is such that aligning the lightest spot on the tire (yellow dot) or maximum radial runout (high spot...red dot) is more critical than on other brand tires.

In general, the runout is much more critical than weight (weight can be easily counter balanced), so you should always match the red dot with the low point alignment reference on your rim; unless otherwise indicated by your rim manufacturer this is the valve stem. Almost every manufacturer drills the valve stem hole at the low runout point.

To be clear, modern manufacturing tolerances for wheels and tires are tight enough that this is irrelevant for 99% or more of us, but that 1% of us who have bad experiences from tolerance stacking will be very noticible by comparison. And more widely known due to forums like this one...

Regardless, if your tire takes a lot of weight to balance the first thing a reputable installer will do is break the bead and spin the tire on the rim to get a better balance. If they’re not doing that they’re either ignorant (not stupid, ignorant...there’s a difference) or just lazy.

Remember, I’m just a guy on the internet so take this advice for what it’s worth, but I’ve been in this game a long time. Do your own research, especially for whoever you trust to do your mounting and installation, and you’ll probably have much better luck in the future.

I made it 22k on my stick KO2’s and they were crap and horrible in the rain. I got some Ridge Grapplers two weeks ago and they are awesome and I have no complaints, they are as quiet at the BFG’s but a lot smoother and a whole lot more traction on and off road dry or wet.

I ran KOs than KO2s on my 2014 and now need new tires on my Gen 2...How are the Nitto RG in the snow? I am in the Northeast so rain and snow performance is important. My last set of KO2s needed a ton of weight but we got them aligned now 25000 miles later they are vibrating a lot.

They are good in snow and better in deep snow than the KO2. I live in GB WI.
