Need help with purchasing tonneau cover
What is the advantage of electric vs non electric. I am currently looking at retrax pro and gatotrax.
Both have electric and non electric low profile covers. Thanks in advance!

All depends how you will use the bed of your truck, only you can answer that.

Of course motorized things have more parts to break...

I have the retrax pro. The cover itself is fantastic. It is nice having the power but it probably is not necessary, but then again I don’t open/close might that frequently. I was able to get a deal and got mine for the same price as the non powered and probably would not spend the money to get power if I had to do it again. Just a warning though, you do lose like a foot of space using the retrax and it is not the easiest to take in and out if you plan on ever taking off. If so you might want to look at the switchblade.

Thanks. I thought so too. I read it cannot open manually as well if it malfunctions. Too. Thanks.
What's the difference between gator and retrax? Gator seems to be cheaper.
Is either as good as the other?

I had the power one before (Retrax) and getting a new one for the 2019. I think it was very handy and pretty awesome to open it with a remote. I used the bed a lot so it was very convenient.

I purchased the Retrax mx trac a few months ago. Retrax was offering the Yakima rack system as a promotion, so it was a good enough incentive to pull the trigger. So far it has been flawless. You do lose a little space, but hanging the ability to partially open the cover and lock it in place has come in pretty handy.
