Okay, I got some corrosion on my positive battery cable, so I went ahead and ordered a whole new battery harness from Tasca to replace everything. I thought the new harness would include the cable that sits on top of the positive cable and runs to the fuse box and the alternator. However, the battery harness does not include that cable. Does anybody have a part number for this cable? I cannot find it on Tasca or anywhere else.

I attached some pictures of the the red cable that runs from the positive terminal to the fuse box, while also splitting off to the alternator.

Any insight would be much appreciated!

This is the new wiring harness. I need the two cables that mount on top of the positive cable: IMG_0103.jpg

Your going to have to call Tasca. The part numbers are very general.
But in the picture you'll see the one cable as 14300B

I'm assuming you bought the whole 14300A, yes?

Yea, by the time I got home and got the part out to compare it to the set up on the truck, Tasca was closed. Thus, I will have to wait until Monday.

Yes, I bought Tasca’s equivalent to 14300A, which is noted as 8 on Tasca’s diagram.

Tasca has no info (or reference) to a cable like 14300B. I looked under all the electrical tabs on Tasca’s webpage (battery, fuse, and alternator) and found nothing.

Okay, part 14A099B in the diagram that you noted above does not exist. No dealership could locate that part. That part appears to be the cable that connects the battery to the alternator. I went to two Ford dealerships today to try and figure this out.

The first dealership had no clue. They pulled up the Ford diagram that you noted above and there was no explanation for why the battery harness did not include the alternator harness. As a result, they checked other dealerships to see if anyone had the battery harness in stock where I could compare it to mine.

Another store did have the battery harness in stock, so I drove 40 mins to that store; only to receive no explanation like the first store. This store pulled the battery harness and it was identical to mine. There is no cable that runs to the fuse box and no cable that runs to the alternator.

I was able to confirm that cable 14300B (the one you pointed out in the diagram above) is the correct battery cable that runs directly from the positive battery connection to the fuse box. It’s full part number is DL3Z 14300 E.

Since the parts desk could not resolve the alternator cable problem, I went to the service desk and was able to resolve the problem. One of the head service guys took me to the back where I was able to talk with the technician that mainly does all the wiring. The technician was able to look up the alternator harness on his computer and get a part number. They then took me to the head parts guy, who only deals with the Ford technicians in the back of the shop, and he was able to locate the alternator harness: BL3Z 14305 B. No dealers had the battery to fuse box cable and the alternator harness in stock, so it will be coming from Ford in Michigan.

In summary, if you want to replace all your battery cables, then you will need to replace three things: the battery harness (DL3Z 14300 C), the battery to fuse box cable (DL3Z 14300 E), and the alternator harness (BL3Z 14305 B). If you were to have all the parts noted above ordered by Ford, and then have Ford install it, then you are looking anywhere from $500-$800 for parts and labor. The second dealership that I went to, told me it would be $800 for parts and labor. I have less than $180 invested in all the parts. My brother and I will knock this out next weekend!

On a side note, the diagrams used to explain all of this is not completely accurate for the 6.2L Raptors. That is why I (and others) were confused, so just keep that in mind.

I hope this helps someone in the future!

Location
here, on frf
another option is to go to a car audio shop. get bigger cable for better current flow. i upgraded and run 1/0 ga from my alternator to battery and ground. can be cut to exact length and wont take a shop very long to do. most shops have scrap 4ga (which i think is oem size) that will sell you cheap. and have ring terminals that will fit

Question if anyone sees this old thread. I'm replacing my Battery Cable Harness, Alternator cable harness and the battery to fuse box cable as above however the Fird Parts catalog has a Circuit Breaker at the terminal. My 2013 Raptor never had a circuit breaker attached, nor does it fit cleanly to the replacement harness. Am I to assume it is not used on my model and the Parts Catalog does not accurately depict all models 2011-2014?
