FIGURED IT OUT> it 4l it turn on front camera in slow speeds . if you go faster it turn off camera. they shoudl have an ability to toggle that functionality off as its dangerous. cant use camera or nav i that mode, not that you'd want to except if your crawling thru traffic on the way home in the snow in 4L and wifey is trying to call you.
it disables the buttons on the wheel for phone, nav, that's an overnsight.

------------
have had my 2018 raptor for maybe 4 months. experienced some strange behavior today first time ever seeing this. snowed here in NJ> was sloppy.
but all of a sudden mid driving, the dash would switch on its own to the rear camera. and a few second later would go back t o the dash/dscreen normal display
then it would switch again. always to the FRONT camera...
the little icon in the upper left would show me its showing front.
i could hit the camera button above dash and toggle through the few camera iviews. but i couldn't force it back to the main dash screen. there isn't any screen butto elsewhere on the control panel/button panel.
so id drive and then it would go to camera-front mode for a while, switch back...
it was super annoying since i needed my nav to get home. finally realized it could toggle to the nav inn the small display that's in front of my steering wheel with the speedo/tach.
but that wouldn't let me look at other routes. change radio, and make any phone calls.
the phone call button on the steering wheel wouldn't work accordingly.
i turned off the car, restarted, same behavior.

i almost thinkn there is some sensor that things you're approaching something like a rock quarry and switches to show you whats in front of the truck?
i had it in 4L which is the first time ive had it 4L. do you think that impacted things?
or maybe some snow on a sensor ?
or bug in software?

My front camera turns on in mud/sand mode below ~10 mph. I think it's handy for cresting hills in particular. I have not put my truck in 4L yet, only 4H and 4A though.

4L is most definitely not a setting to use in adverse weather conditions! It is only for scaling steep and technical terrain that requires 1,000 ft-lb of torque and a 1mph driving speed. Stick with 4A on the street.
