New Continental Terrain Contact tires

The Firestone MT2 are excellent mud tires, but they are fairly loud on the highway. I have them on both of my 1 ton work trucks.

My F-350 had Toyo Rts on it before the Firestones. A much better all around tire for a daily driver. I got 45,000 miles out of them which is the most that I have got out of a mud tire.

That's what I was afraid of. Was told they were as quiet as the Coopers, but had a hard time believing it.

RTs are too heavy for me. Not gonna go 10lbs up per corner

Since y'all brought up Cooper and Toyo...For what it's worth, when I took the truck in to get the Continentals road forced, I was giving the writer the info on the truck, another writer behind him spun around in his chair and said "Please say you didn't put Coopers on your Raptor." He said they have had bad luck getting them to balance in that size.

Anywho, just to add to the useless info... years ago, mounted some new 37" Toyo MT's, using tire irons, to my rockcrawler. Without balancing them what so ever, they drove down the highway smooth as silk at 75.

How are you liking the Contis? I'm in a dilemma in that most of my miles are street, often in wet and I hate my BFG in the rain. But on dry I push that truck hard. My DD is an Audi R8 and my driving style is similar between the two. I do occasionally get off road so I still need a decent AT tire. Do the Contis feel as stable as the BFG through turns?

After more miles and a road trip, I would say the Conti's are better in 2 ways, and worse in every other way. They are better than the BFG in the rain and they are quieter. The Conti's don't seem to track as well on the highway, are stiffer, and don't seem to feel as "round" as the BFG's. There is definitely some sort of flat spot in at least one of them after sitting for while, seems to smooth out after about 5 miles. Already had one replaced, frustrating.

In the end, I cannot recommend them. I will switch back to the BFG's or see if I can find another C or D load range, non-aggressive tire.

We are new Raptor owners,not introduced yet, but very old. We have a tire problem we did not like the ride of the Goodyear stock A/T and changed to the TOYO A/T. Still not too happy. Seems has a vibration in the car. We realize that is a Raptor and my tire guy told me that I looked like a Platinum guy instead of a Raptor Any suggestions would help about the ride and other. Like I said I’m 84 and really ike a like better ride for our Pavement Princess. I’ve alread been 40 and crazy with the Porsche’s 911, Turbo, BMW, and on. Need to be young again

John, I can only speak from my experience. The stock tires are hands down better riding than the Continentals, and I would assume better than other tires that have a heavier load rating. In my searching, the stock tire was the only tire offered in that size that that is "C" load rating and wasn't a "D" or "E" load.

I would suggest playing with your tire pressure. I found that 35 in the front and 33 in the rear, when cold offers the best ride in the BFG's. I kid you not, I aired down the Continentals to the low 20s and they still rode harsher than the BFG's at mid 30's.

Beyond that consider having the tires road force balanced. Best of luck.

EDIT: And to be clear, I did switch back to the stock tires, albeit new, and am extremely happy. Looking for "better" tires was a case of "a solution looking for a problem" that wasn't really a problem.

Well GCATX sorry to see things didnt work out for you. Unfortunately you did the work for all of us. I’ve got about 900 miles an on my 19 and just can’t believe that any tire would ride as good on this truck . Sounds crazy that an all-terrain gives this type of return, but people get in my truck and are shocked at the smoothness and quietness. Not to mention how surprised I am. Coming from an LX 570 this truck is basically as smooth and nowhere near as bouncy. As far as responsiveness to the LX.....it’s like comparing a Lincoln town car to a BMW( i’m not talking about engine responsiveness, that’s a whole Nother animal. Just the ride in general.
