As I had today off (thank you all veterans especially my wife who had to work today!) I decided to tackle this fix. Took about 20 minutes. The instructions are pretty straightforward in the kit. Note to everyone: Make sure you do this! I had no symptoms but look at my fuse!!!!

Did this within a month of buying my truck. Had the dealership do it and they covered it under warranty

Best peace of mind maintence out there for these trucks, especially if you live in cold bad weather climates getting stranded over a fuse is idiotic

Mine just melted a few weeks ago. Truck worked fine, next morning, wouldn’t start. Checked the fuse and there it was. 65000 miles. I had the dealership change it since I have the extended warranty. Funny, at first they tried to say it wasn’t covered because it was a fuse issue. After I gave them all the info on the history of this problem they called back, very friendly this time, and fixed it under warranty. Amazing they think we don’t have access to the internet.

Doing mine this morning on my 2012. Just waiting to go buy a heat gun for the shrink wrap.

Mine has been sitting on my back seat for two weeks, just waiting for a "round toit"
I finally got a "round toit", so I was able to complete the job...
The instructions and the job itself was pretty straightforward. It took me a little longer than expected because I double checked every step.
My fuse and slot showed no signs of melting, so I think I have been lucky for the past 75k miles.
I also agree with the others, considering this is clearly a design flaw, Ford should do a recall.
