GEN 2 Any one use Winter Tires?

Hello all, I have a 2019 that should be here in 2 weeks. I have always put winter tires on all my vehicles. I have never run all-terrains in the winter, I hear they are pretty good. I do a lot of driving in the winter and love the feeling of winter tires. Does any have winter tires on their truck currently? If so, what size rim are you running and what tire?

I had those , i even studded them. They were awesome on icy roads but incredibly useless in anything resembling off road. I take my dog running with the truck in the winter. I go into snowy stubble fields. They were useless. What i could go into using 2 wd and duratracs required 4wd and lots of momentem. i won't get them again. Still trying to decide , maybe syped duratracs

I also run Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT2 non-studded (315/70/17) for the icy covered/snow packed roads of Minnesota. I can't speak to their "off road" worthiness but they are light years better than the stock BF Goodrich for winter driving.

I used to run Duratracs on my Tacoma and they too are miles better than the BF Goodrich's for winter driving but pale in comparison to the Nokian's for packed snow/ice.

I just ordered those studded LT2 tires for my spare set of wheels. The stock tires slip pretty often in the white stuff and I had these Hakkas on my old Rover. They were awesome!!! Will give them a try. Thanks for recommending them. I don't plan to take them off roading..that's what those KO2s are for.

I think ill go with the Nokian Hakka LT2s! I had Hakka R2s on my STi and loved them.

I do not plan to do much off road in the winter so a dedicated winter tire should work well for me!

Personally, I think the KO2s perform fine in the Colorado Mountains. They're snow rated and don't leave me wanting more. I came from a 4runner with X-ice don't feel like I lost much. Of course, I am also the guy who turns traction control off and leaves it in 2wd so I can drift around every corner, so a little slipping doesn't bother me. I've driven crappy all-seasons and the KO2s are definitely not that. That said, they will never compare to studded tires.

I don't mind drifting/sliding either, but I do mind the other idiots around me jamming on their brakes or sliding through intersections. The ability to stop and turn with the Nokians vs the BF Goodrich's is beyond worth the tire change every winter.

Im giving Goodyear Duratrac's a try this year, not an outright snow tire, but has some siping and is supposed to be good in the snow. I live in rural maine up a steep dead end dirt road, so they will get a workout.

I might do the same , i will look into extra syping
