Congrats! Did the dealer happen to have any other 2018s they trying to get rid of? Thanks in advance!

It was very straight forward. Got the GM on the phone hammered out deal after about 2 calls...I did a soft walk and he called back. I didn't care either way as I had 19 ordered, so net/net I would have won. But he caved and told him I'd come grab it today (yesterday) and he had it make ready before I even arrived. 15 minutes of waiting, signing registration papers, writing a check and I was headed home.

I love end of month/end of model year deals. Plus it was his last one and he clearly has 19's rolling in.

Had windows tinted this morning and it's ready for weekend duty...and probably some weekday as well. It's a fun ride and you gents who have had one for years have done it right.

I think I will learn from your "Art of the deal" skills you stole from president Trump. :banana-mario:

How were you able to buy car for invoice or less?
What was the original msrp, and how much exactly did you pay?

It’s easy. Call a dealer. Tell them you want to buy a truck for 5k under MSRP. You’ll settle around half of that maybe a little more. If you really want to “work” the deal I’m sure you can get some additional discount.

You’ve researched the market and know that the 2019’s are coming and that the last of the 18’s will be difficult to sell without discount now. It’s a buyers market.

For me, I looked at KBB for the value of a 2018 with 7500 miles on it and offered that as my beginning offer. $5k under msrp. Then ended up buying at $3k under. I’m happy and in a Raptor not trying to save $500 on a $70k truck.

Good luck.

$62750 on $69k sticker. They started at sticker and I worked them from there. I buy several cars a year and know the game (albeit not with Ford). Just get to the Sales Director and start to work your magic. Dealing with the floor guy will only make you life harder. I've never stepped foot in a dealership until after deal is done--all over phone. It's a fun thing for me and it's all about timing. End of month is best time and for the remaining 2018's most (not all) dealers will be reasonable. Good luck!

IT was their last one...again take advantage of the situation.

Lol. Your deal is not a deal to me. Right now I can buy brand new $4k below msrp in Georgia and Alabama.
I saw one posted here by jiang in Kent Ohio for $7k off msrp, but the don't have the white color.
Anyway you still got a deal. Half loaf is better than none.

I will follow GTTXRAP advice. Will wait till end of December and also end of year. The dealers will give into it. I will talk to the manager as instructed too instead of the sales boys

No worries, it was a deal that worked for me (you asked so I gave you my numbers). I wasn't out to find the lowest price, I was out to find something close, that was specced exactly the way I wanted and I could go pick up and drive home (the price was added fun bonus). It was a win/win for me and a weekend car, so not a crisis.

Since I had a 2019 on order, it was a good deal in comparison for my needs.

Hope you find what you are looking for...while you are tire kicking I'll be enjoying.

I did the same thing GTT. I was debating on ordering a '19 but I got a offer I just couldn't refuse. I got under invoice on a '18, but not as aggressively under as your deal. My truck was a tick under $70 sticker and got it for $64,240. About $700 under invoice. I couldn't justify the extra $7k on a '19 with the base price increase and MSRP. The dealers here in Tidewater are notorious for "market adjustments". I can't wait to get this thing down to the outer banks, since tourist season is finally over, and have some fun in the sand.

The window for these deals I think may be closing as the '19 will begin to show up soon and the '18 will become a "cheaper" alternative, even at MSRP, to the '19. All it takes is a little patience, persistence, and research to get a dealer to two to work with you.
