Whipple tune doesn't increase boost?

I just called Whipple to inquire what type of boost increase one would get with their Stage 1 Calibration, and they advised ZERO. They explained that since they work so closely with Ford, the target boost remains the same as stock, and all of the power and torque improvements are purely a result of improving engine efficiency.

Personally, I've never heard of an aftermarket ECU flash that doesn't increase the boost at all on a Turbo vehicle... but who knows.

Seriously... 60hp and 120ft-lbs of torque on "improvements to engine efficiencies"? I mean, if that's the case, they should really consider tuning NA cars where everyone else has failed to get those types of gains.

They do increase boost at lower RPM.

Peak boost (aka target boost) remains the same...for many reasons.... the turbos are only so efficient, too much cylinder head pressure etc... but there is more boost under load at all rpms until peak is reached, and peak boost doesn't taper off as much as the OEM tune resulting in more horsepower throughout the power band. Also there are many other things you can do to increase power without more boost.

It's a heavy ass truck, i'm not sure why people want to add a few extra hp for like a .2 difference in a the quarter mile. These things are designed to last 200,000 miles on the stock tune and if you read the forums about engine issues, most of them are because people are ******* around with aftermarket tunes.

But if I were to buy a tune for this truck, it would be whipple. Those guys actually know what they are doing and do actual R&D, unlike most tuners which just put it on a dyno and then run it around town and call it "extensively tested."

I would trust MPT just as much, if not more. They've been tuning ecoboost F150s since 2011.

I love my Whipple tune

I have 20,000 miles on my Whipple tune and still going strong.

Did your Guy's trucks wake up immediately after doing the whipple kit or did the truck need some time to become acclimated with the new whipple stuff?

Just had the whipple kit installed and my truck is way slower than stock.

Won't even chirp the tires now where as before it used to roast them

it improved a little, over 20k miles on it, and im changing it, deceiving company with f*** all customer service
