I noticed that yesterday. None of the 2018 window stickers list heated or cooled/ventilated seats.

I was always of the understanding that they were ventilated seats and that most cars nowadays are that way, rather than cooled. Ie. they pull cool/cold air from in the vehicle rather than making their own cold air. I definitely notice that they get cooler as my truck gets cooler inside.

FWIW, I have ventilated seats on my ‘18 BMW X3 M40i and they suck in comparison to the raptor. Can’t even tell they are on and provide zero cooling effect. So much so that i thought they weren’t working. Dealer says they are working as they should.

I’m curious what the answer is on whether G2 sears are or have been cooled. I had ventilated seats on my 2014. I remember there was some investigation for the G1 and it was determined that they were vented not cooked. I will say that they seemed to help quite a bit in hot days despite being “only vented”.

The 17s and 18s use a TED system for both heating and cooling: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/2018-heated-cooled-seats-401208/

This unit should pull air from the bottom of the seat, where the unit is located. There's not a filter per say, but something to that effect. It will blow through the seat onto you.

It can only adjust so far from ambient temperature, which means while the unit is separate from the HVAC system, the truck's interior temperature will determine how well the seat works. If you are in 100 degree Texas heat with the windows down, full blast seats will barely feel cool at all, but if you've got the windows up and A/C at 72, the seats will be pulling 72 degree air vs 100 degree and therefore be much cooler. I usually have to turn it off after a few minutes.

I would be amazed if the 19s changed this, except for Recaro seats, which I have reason to believe will have heat only.

They’ve confirmed heated and cooled. Plus would be quite the lawsuit with not disclaimer by now saying they don’t

I was a fan in my 17 of the AC seats when my wife wanted the heat on and I was hot. So the ventilated seats won’t be as cool I’m guessing as my 17?
