It was 2 years and 2 weeks ago, but it doesn't seem that long ago I went to the state fair to glean whatever info I could on the 2017 Raptor and share it with all the Raptor groups. Well, this time it is for the 2019. They had two, both in blue (fairly sure it is velocity, but no confirmation). The inside one was 800 or 801 and the outside one an 802.

Main things I noted:

- Neither truck had Recaros (nor did any Ford there). I asked if they'd be heated/cooled. They suspected heat only based on other FP vehicles.
- Further, while both had the same leather seats we're used to, both also had a honeycomb pattern on the leather seats, almost like they are mimicking the grille design. Nobody could tell me anything about this. Note these trucks had standard interior.
- On the topic of seats, sitting in nearly every car at the show made me appreciate how great ours are. Definitely the best by a large margin.
- The new coloring on the applique is much more subtle in person than even my picture. I looked at it in as much variance in lighting as I could, and while I thought I'd hate it (based on pictures) I think I may actually grow to like it best over time. We'll see after full sun. I had this same epiphany with the magnetic trim last time, hah.
- It appears to be one wire per shock (no surprise). I couldn't trace them very far.
- Unknown if 19 regains color-choice ambient lighting. Doubtful.
- No one had ridden with the new shocks, but they all told me they are going to test the Ranger in a few months.
- The non-802 Raptor had plastic trim on the dash. Not sure if that's normal, demo thing, or what. Per usual, I couldn't get an answer.
- My kids seem to love the auto show even more than my wife and I do, and that's saying something.
- The colorado zr2 has a pretty crappy interior compared to our trucks. I guess the same is true for the Ranger, but yeah.
- The new Silverado is as ugly in person as in pictures. Both sides of my family are Chevy/GM drivers, and the only one that likes the new design is my wife. Unsurprisingly, she also likes Tundras and Titans, which the new body style mimics for some terrible reason.
- The c7 zr1 seems rather tame when you've been sitting in cars for a few hours. Not sure I'll ever get used to being that low to the ground when I eventually get one. I can also see why so many people opt for the Grand Sport, as the seats are much more suited to daily driving (duh)

Thanks for the write up! That definitely looks like velocity blue.

We'll probably be getting some answers on a lot of the questions shortly, since builds start this week. I imagine a few forum members will have trucks on hand in the next 2-3 weeks.
