He doesn't need to backup any numbers, you do. He came here posting a deal his dealer is offering, nothing more. You came in here saying that's impossible because the dealer would be taking a loss. What numbers do YOU have SPECIFIC to this dealer that backup YOUR assertion that they are taking a loss? Unless you have inside information from this dealer that prove OP is lying, you should probably just shut the **** up.

Wow, you guys sure don't care for differing opinions. All I ever said was it sounded fishy, never did I use the word "impossible".

As for my original, and only point: I'm skeptical that a dealer would sell below margin. You want my numbers? No problem. My MSRP was $75,275.00 and dealer cost was $70,036.24. Meaning, the dealer's margin is $5,238.76. Going below that number is selling at a loss. I know these numbers because I have copies of all the DORA records. And fwiw I did not pay MSRP, I paid under. Admittedly not $6-$7k under though.

As for the "high school" comment, if you re-read my posts I am not personally attacking you, nor am I saying you're flat out wrong. I'm voicing a differing opinion and stating why. If this somehow offends you, then I apologize as that was not my intent. However, the entire point of this forum is... well... I suggest looking up the definition of the word.

I'll end my post with the same thought I've made twice already: If it's a legit deal, I hope others jump on it as $6-$7k off is awesome.

We are all here for the same thing. To help each other. And I appreciate you trying to do the same thing. This thread got off on the wrong side right from the beginning. I did not know any of these trucks had msrp’s over $75k.

The part you are missing is invoice is not the actual price the dealer pays. There are always kick backs and incentives that reduce that price and can be as high as 5-6k below that. Invoice is just a number they can show you to make you feel good. I know this because my dad worked in dealerships for about 30 years and my grandfather owned a dealership in Southern California for 50+ years, but not recent enough for me to be able to take advantage of it.

Lol never mind. Looks like between the time I bought mine and now someone bought this one and sold it back to the same dealership within 3 months and 3,600mi. I saw this truck for sale new a few months back.

Isn't the dealers cost $4k below invoice and not MSRP as well as about $2k dealer holdback?

Got a text from the dealer I bought my 18 Screw from. Said they have two 18 Screws, fully loaded, a leadfoot and a ruby red that they will sell for $6000-$7000 off of sticker. Maybe they will negotiate more, I don’t know. I have no affiliation with them, just looking to pass on the deal.

I think it's fishy because of the economics. Selling an '18 at $2k under MSRP because the '19s are now in production I understand. But selling at $7k under MSRP when dealer invoice is $5k under MSRP is a loss. I get needing to move inventory, but that's a tactic you take with a baseline Escape or Fusion. Seems like this dealership will be adjusting their stock numbers for this model year.

If it's legit and folks get a great deal, awesome. But my skepticism remains.
who told you dealer invoice is $5k?
Don't make me laugh. Cars are not bought from dealers. It is kind of leased by the big greedy banks. Only cost to dealer is to pay for car space while on lot. Don't let dealers deceive you. Cars make profits of up to 40% over true manufacturing price

Wow, look who just showed up spewing more ********.

If car companies are so profitable, why did two of the Big Three go bankrupt in the last 10 years? Why did Ford's CEO get fired last year after the stock fell 40%?

According to you, car companies have even better profit margins than Apple. Shit, someone better tell Wall Street.

Have you heard of holdback?
