Im looking for a 10 or 12" box that will fit behind the rear seat WITHOUT cutting the carpet.

We camp and explore a lot and my wife will not let me use the space under the seats or else I would do just that.

I tried the Kicker hideaway and that was really not much better than stock B&G sub IMO.

I have a pioneer 8" shallow sub landing today that I am going to try in the stock enclosure with a seperate amp going to it. Well see how that sounds.

Trying everything until I can find a box that fits without cutting all my carpet up. No thanks on that.

The bummer is, I have a 12" JL W3, 12" JL W6, and a Rockford fosgate p300 12" powered sub laying around. Sadly none of it fit the the truck.

I am able to use my XD600/1 and LC2i though!

Any box suggestions?

If you haven’t wrapped the sub enclosure with dynamat, or similar product, do it. that is a simple, low cost and low effort bass improvement. I know someone got a 10” sub and shallow box behind the seat, but had to remove the 8” enclosure, not sure if it was here on FRF or on another F150 site

I’m right there with you, I can’t give up the space under the seats. Space is pretty tight behind the rear seat the higher up you get.

I have sir. I did Polyfill first and that made a huge difference. Then I added some dynamat to the outside of the box.

I am totally ok removing the stock sub enclosure if a 10" box would fit without cutting! = )

I just wish I could find something to throw one of my 12"s in, but I know that's NOT happening. lol.

Until I find one. I have a Pioneer 8" shallow landing today that I will put into the stock enclosure with power from my JL XD600/1

I know @Guy ran the Pioneer for a while, but IIRC he swapped to the Kicker, which I went with originally for the extra power. I’ve got the ’17, so no headaches like the ’18’s and up with the b&o. I think I saw the guy with a 10” shallow sub on one of the F150 sites. I’d like to try it and put some extra thump into the equation myself. I may revisit that as I should be able to up the wattage a little without rewiring, as I thought I might eventually get here.

I almost got the kicker, but the range of the pioneer was better and it was free 1 day shipping...lol. Well see how it goes.

I thought 300w would be plenty with 25rms through the rest of the speakers. I can vibrate the mirrors, sure, but I’d like cabin filling, total mirror blurring power from my sub. It doesn’t have to shake the earth, just be more powerful than I have now.

Pioneer was a bust too. ********. I can’t get anything to sound right. It worked. But higher volume instantly clips the woofer.

Back to stock and over it.

I have a kicker laying around for cheap :)

I think the 18’s have a different hook up than the 17 making the “simple” sub swap for ~$350 more expensive and complicated.

Which kicker do you have and does it not perform well?

How bout a box built for under the rear seat that has quick disconnects, and can be removed in 10 seconds? Is that an option?
