Can't decide on what tires to buy

I have 37 BFG AT's on my 13, and 37 Nitto ridge grapplers on my 18. I prefer the Nitto's for better rain and off road. Only slightly better. No snow Houston. Haha. They are not any louder that i can tell.

I've been running them on my Bronco for the last 5 years and I have 6k miles on the Duratracs on my Raptor. The 35x12.5x17 are a little cheaper than the 315/70/17 but I went with the 315's for a slightly softer ride. The 35's are load range E and the 315's are load range D. My load range D Duratracs ride a little firmer than the stock load range C KO2's.

I wasn't aware of the load change. I got the 35's.

Nitro Ridge Grappler Update - now that I’ve been running the Nittos for a month I will say they are much much stiffer and don’t ride as well. Also, I now have “Wheel Hop” over expansion joints and certain terrain that I didn’t have before. I like the Nittos but for all but serious off road work the BFG is a better tire for the Raptor.

I have 10k miles on my Nitto RG and I disagree.

A friend who ran both the stock tires and 35 RGs for quite some time said the RGs were much stiffer, and made the ride a lot more truck-like. The offroad performance was improved slightly, from what he said.

BFG is releasing a load range C KM2 in 35” and 37” around the beginning of the year. This will also release along with a load range C KO2.

Huge KO2 fan. 13 psi and awesome traction on the dunes, worked well off-road and incredible grip in AWD when raining. Resist hydroplaning very well. Florida type.

If you are using 4A and can't stay on the road, you've got a serious driving problem. Try driving in the rain with the KO2s in 2H. I have hit puddles going straight and lost traction - they are quite frankly terrible. My wife told me they were bad, and that's when I really started to realize they were.

If it’s raining with standing water why wouldn’t you use 4A? Regardless of situation, why wouldn’t you use the best tool at your avail? Just curious.

I’ve never driven a 500+ HP pickup in 2H that hooked up in standing water over pavement.

Haha, I do use 4A, but the stock tires are known for their poor skid rating and bad wet performance. The fact it is comparable to driving on black ice on an old truck with bald tires makes me think there has to be a better alternative - and that's while going to a more aggressive tire.
