My navigation has completely stopped functioning. When the truck is first started the location shown is completely inaccurate. Then after a few minutes, a small icon appears in the lower left corner of the map screen that has the letters "GPS" with a red strike through them. Coupled with this, the compass indicator in the gauge cluster always shows North, regardless of actual heading. Additionally, when my phone is connected via Bluetooth there is an indication in the upper right corner of the screen that 911 Assist is set to off. This started at the same time as the navigation issue.

I am currently on Sync version 2.0 and I am working to upgrade to 3.0 which has presented a whole new world of issues.

Has anyone else had similar issues?

My truck is a '17 SCREW with the 802A package.

Update: Just heard back from the dealership and apparently my truck needs a new APIM. The Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) is basically the SYNC computer.

The saga continues. I picked up my truck from the dealership (they have to order the APIM). I had to go to a couple of places to get some stuff and I noticed the screen wasn’t turning off when I turn off the truck and get out. It just stays on indefinitely. Called the dealership and they said they tried to reprogram it a couple of times and that it “is in the process of dying”. They recommended that I disconnect the negative battery terminal to keep it from draining the battery.

Any resolution to your issues once they replaced the APIM?

Mine experienced similar issues (except the staying on issue), and the dealer confirmed malfunctioned APIM. They ordered new APIM, but it's on backorder.

My sync just shit the bed. Today. 3 weeks into ownership. It seemed to get hammed from switching back and forth to Apple CarPlay and Waze. All I have is a black screen with white font for audio, climate control temp, and phone. That’s it. All bottom controls are not functioning. Looks like this. Not cool Ford.

**edit** Jumped back in and restarted the truck after 5 minutes and all seems back to normal. Must have just been a software crash. Still, seems odd.
