Hey guys, I just went thru a forced (read accident) upgrade on my front bumper and now am trying to determine what light bar would work best. I envision mostly using the light when camping, driving some dark trails at night and farm roads. I already have the Rigid E-Series Pro Flood in white on either side of the winch. They are awesome. I like how they are cooler in color than my regular/high beams in the truck. I thought those were fairly white until I got all installed and was able to compare the two last night. At any rate, I digressed.
The mounting area on the bumper looks to be suited for a 24" at max, having me looking at the 20" Rigid bars. Thought on spot/beam/laser/flood/area combos please. What do you guys think will most compliment my current setup? And any size feedback from other ADD Venom owners would be awesome.

Thx

I am a fan of Rigid for sure. I have found with experience the driving and flood patterns provide the most usable light when mounted on a bumper. However, since you already have some pods, then, I would recommend the “driving/spot” combo.

Post a photo of your truck and bumper.

As far as “laser,” Baja designs is the only company to offer this technology currently. They are in limited quantities and they want a ton of $$$$. I think the spot from the laser will not be a good lighting option mounted so low on a bumper.

We’ve helped a couple customers with this setup and you’re going to want to stick to a 20” setup or go with a curved 20” setup.

Personally, since the bumper is curved, I find that curved bar would fit best. The Rigid RDS 20” light bar should work nicely in that location.

For reference, here’s a Rigid 20” RDS bar in action on ADD PRO front bumper.

If you like this option and would like to go this route, please let me know and we’d be happy to help get you setup!

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm going to look at 20" light bars. I'll be driving it more in the country at night this weekend and hope to get a better idea of what I'm wanting to do. I do agree that a drive/spot or drive/hyperspot is what I'm looking for possible, but I'm noticing that there's not alot of light cast to the sides - say from 45 to 90 degrees off each side. Maybe I won't need light there - just an observation.

I'd go for a spot/flood combo bar to get some of that lateral visibility that your'e after. We can also go with hood mounted lights like the XL80s or Rigid D-SS Series lights with the side shooter LEDs.

I have a Venom bumper with a winch mounted. For lighting I went with a 40" Rigid bar (E-series I think) mounted behind the grill. Might be something to look at as well.
