Vibration

BFG’s are very sensitive to over inflation. Just a couple of pounds can cause a humm that you can not only hear but feel in the seat of your pants. I’ve had BFG All-Terrains for years. Have always rotated and balanced the tires when I was supposed to and I have found that tires are rarely inflated per manufacturer specsafter that service. Most tire monkeys inflate to max pressure indicated on the sidewall of the tire. My suggestion, get a good air pressure gauge (never use any other than that one) and play with the tire pressure till you find a comfortable pressure. And, don’t be surprised if the front pressure differs from the rear pressure (dependent on load of course).

Thanks. I figured I'd run them in the 36-40 lb range. I can't stand it when LTs get aired up to 80 lbs on an empty truck.

Door sticker says 36lbs cold why run 40? I doubt it will help at all with gas mileage so err on the side of comfort.

I have a "vibration" feeling in mine as well (29k miles), I assume it's a combination of the tires wearing down, and the wheel bearings getting "broken in". Every gen1 I have ever driven had the same sensation, so when my gen2 didn't have it for the first ~20k miles, I attributed it to the new shocks and tires. To be honest though, I kind of like the vibration - it makes the truck feel less like a "luxury car" and more like an offroad truck.

Side note - last week when I was at the dealer, Jason from GLRE had his gen 2 in there as well getting one of his wheel bearings replaced. Not saying it's a common issue, but it does make me wonder...

I have a noise and only when I turn right. Friction noise. I’m thinking either breaks are sticking or bearing is bad. Truck goes in next week so ill find out then what’s wrong.

Tried that no change in sound.

Vibration is better but not gone. I’m gonna have them check alignment next. I’m also wondering if it’s rocks inbetween the lugs throwing off the balance. These tires seem to hold rocks and I live on a dirt road.

I had a vibration on my 2015 escalade ESV (current body). Had wheels rotated, dealer rebalanced 3 times, outside tire shop road force balanced. The kicker is I felt the shakes when I test drove it before buying but me being a ******* bought it anyways sonce the new body had just come out and it was ordered for me. Had it for 3 years and depreciated it. Just got a new 2018 same Escalade esv, same 22” wheels and tires same color LOL absolutely zero shakes. I have a feeling the wheels were defective

If you have a buddy with a raptor or even a regular f150 swap wheels and see if it goes away. Will look hilarious but worth experimenting

Gas mileage on Radials (unlike bias ply) does not vary much when you lower pressure. On my 4,200 pound Jeep that I run 37" BFG KO2s, I run the pressure at 24, any higher and I can really tell the difference. They are load range E, but I would think the C range on the Raptors would be fine at 34.

I’ll probably end up running my raptor at 32-34 as well when it comes in. I test drove a new one aired up to 50lbs transport pressure for a couple miles. It was super rough. Aired it down to 36 with the salesperson and it was way better but the test drive generated enough heat they were at 40 when we got back to the dealership. I don’t care about tire life they’re prolly gonna get loud and need replacement before they wear out
