Congrats on the new GT! Please post a pic and how did you option it? Track/performance pack, manual or 10sp auto?

Apologies to OP for straying from orig topic...

400a
GT performance pkg
Manual
Already replaced the chrome 5.0 emblems with black
Installed a JL audio sub and amp
No other mods planned for now but a CAI and tune is tempting
Oh and a booster and full size car seat

I am 42 years old, my 2017 is the third Raptor I have owned. I live on a 3-mile long dirt road in the middle of nowhere, 150 miles from any major city.

I have not owned any type of sports car since my 1987 Mazda RX7 Turbo II. That was a long time ago. Sports cars do not do well on the dirt roads where I live. I have replaced multiple oil pans due to bottoming out cars in the past. I have also been stuck in the snow numerous times with high performance rear wheel drive cars. I have owned numerous off-road oriented vehicles including a Jeep Rubicon Unlimited.

I drive off pavement with my Raptor all the time, but many of the trails around here are mountainous and wooded, they are far too narrow for a Raptor. I have a side-by-side for hardcore off-road trails in this area. There are hundreds of miles of dirt roads in my region, I enjoy bombing up and down these dirt roads at high speeds with my Raptor.

My Raptor is not my daily driver. I have a company car which is generally a smaller all-wheel drive vehicle. My current company car is a 2017 Ford Escape all wheel drive.

One final note: I did not buy my Raptor for looks or status. Honestly, there are times when I am embarrassed because people know that I own a $65,000+ truck. I would never buy a Ford F-150 Platinum Edition or King Ranch or some other bling package like that. I love high performance off road vehicles, that is why I bought a Raptor.

Pretty close. I’m 39, Raptor isn’t my daily but I don’t have another “performance” vehicle, just a boring crossover. It is the first off road vehicle I’ve owned and in fact, the first truck I’ve Owned.

Mid 40’s the raptor is the daily driver had it a couple months. Have been on several car and motorcycle forums. Current line of up cars are:

2018 Raptor obviously
2018 Porsche Macan special ordered with the Performance Package
2016 911 Turbo Convertible.

I have had several sports cars, sports bikes and a few trucks. Rode track on the sport bikes and drag raced a few cars…

34-years-old.
Definitely not rich.
From the Midwest.
Live in an urban environment and my Raptor is a daily driver.
Other vehicles: 2013 Honda CBR 600RR, 1985 Chevrolet C10
I've never off-roaded a vehicle and don't really plan to.
I don't overly modify vehicles. Wheels and minor aesthetic changes only (like stripping stuff off to make them cleaner).

Why I own this vehicle:

I can't afford, nor store, a fleet of vehicles for whatever mood I'm in. The Raptor is the only one that fits in the middle of the Venn diagram of my motoring life:

Circle A- Performance car (Because I am a typical automotive enthusiast)
Circle B- 4WD pick-up truck (because I own a home with a yard and it snows here half the year)

Only the Raptor occupies the space where those two circles of desire intersect. Yeah, it can blast off sand dunes and crawl on rocks, but it isn't a slouch on the pavement either. People forget that this thing gets to 60 MPH faster than most performance cars could up until recently. Sure, it may handle like a sailboat in the apexes, but that is half the fun I think. If I lived in a condo on the West Coast, I'd have bought an M4. But there are blizzards here.

Fell in love w/ the raptor G1. Pulled trigger got the 2018 5K miles ago that I park in a public garage that it barely fits in. Other car 2013 135I also park in a rented garage. Spending $700/mo on parking alone in SF...

Offroaded in Napa, Yosemite, and soon taking a nice trip through the South Idaho desert Minidoka to Arco. Looking forward to more runs. Wanting to do Barstow to Vegas or Phoenix.

Mods - Doing Deavers, Bumpstops, Collars (RPG) picking up tomorrow. Future maybe light bar but I like the OEM look so probably under grille.

I like the status too .. not sorry!

Had a lot of BMW, Mercedes, a Suburban, ************* Pontiac. This truck has given me so much joy. I love it more than any of them.

edit: SCAB too.

I'm 44 now. Always been a car guy, Saleen mustang, lifted trucks, this is my second raptor. Tried the SUV thing... Didn't like it. My raptor is my DD on my 6.5 mile trek to work.
