The Raptor is the most robust overbuilt F150 Ford makes...The axle tubes are bigger and stronger then any other F150, the axle shafts are bigger and stronger then any other F150, and the Raptor frame is stronger....so why only 8,000 lbs for the crew cab?
Simple...an long travel off road truck is soft in the rear and the rating is based on the max expected tongue weight...

Ask a question nobody is asking, and then answer it yourself....lol

Yes everybody fully understands why the Raptor has a lower towing rating then a standard F150, and several other posts have already referenced the answer in this very thread...

Not trying to come off as a **** here, or confrontational I legitimately thought it was funny..

Why does the rear of our trucks sage slightly when towing ?? The answer is simple gravity...

:)

In my previous posts I was suggesting that the actual Max Payload "not towing" # should of been rated higher in the super crews then it is based on my experience.

Curious whether it was a case of Ford Engineers playing it safe, or if repeated loading of over 1250 lbs causes some damage over time to the suspension. I could believe either answer..

Rear suspension and tires is the reason for the tow rating. As for the poster who thinks it feels like a farrari gotta say it feels like a slug towing my boat compared to my old Super Duty

Well this was my 2010 5.4L towing 7K and had zero problems. When I got my 2012 it was just as good. Have a 2018 and will be headed north in a few weeks with the same trailer attached

I'm assuming you had a diesel in your Super Duty.....I guess I should have clarified......I was comparing it to other gas engines I have owned.
