My name is Mike and a former, still at heart though, GM guy. I currently drive a 2000 Sierra Ext cab Z71 stepside. This truck has been great, but I refuse to put any more money in it. Mind you, I haven't had to do anything major really other then the usual stuff for an engine with 160k miles and it still runs great.

My wifes 09 Equinox Sport on the other hand left a bad taste in my mouth. Engine light on: issue resolved- $80
Transmission failed: Repaired- $3800
Engine light in AGAIN!!!!, Timing chain: Not resolved- $2800, $2000 after I went around and around with a GM service rep, plus......the oil pump was going out.
Traded that in on a 2014 Escape and I must say, I love the thing.

At the end of Sept, beginning of Oct I'm looking into getting a new(er) truck. I'm looking into either a 2013 or 2014 F150 Raptor OR..... the new Ranger Raptor.

Your thoughts?
I'll make another thread in the appropriate section concerning that with more detail.

Has the Ranger Raptor been confirmed for the US market yet?

The regular Ranger won't even start arriving in dealerships until early 2019, IF the US market gets a Raptor version it will probably be at least 1 year after that once the regular Ranger proves it will sell. So probably mid-late 2020 for a Ranger Raptor, if it comes?

Just buy the 2013-14 F150 Raptor and call it a day man, you won't be disappointed or unhappy.

What I've seen is that the Ranger Raptor is confirmed for other markets and very likely of for the U.S. market. Which means a bit of a delay, which means that you may well have a few years to enjoy something else in the meantime.

I read in a mag, though I don't recall what mag as it was my dads, but they know way to much for it to not be confirmed so I therefore assumed it was.
I went to the dealership Monday and they show it has not been confirmed yet. They are taking orders for the ranger (due out in Feb) and the Raptor version if it's released in the US, so there's a waiting list for both.

The mag went on to talk about torque (can't remember) and HP (390 bhp) from the same v6 as the F-150 Raptor. SO I don't know where they pulled their numbers from.

Waddy, it was your post that I read about high miled Raptors that also took the concern away. I know my limit ($40k) and have found a lot of F-150 Raptors with around 50k miles or less in that range, so I'm good. I can't and wont, wait until Feb for a new(er) truck.
