So first off, I'm new to the Forum. So "Hi".

I ordered my baby on 11/07. From what I'm reading, I'm hoping at this point to get it by my birthday in February and not by my original hopes of New Years! LOL!!!! :hahano:

Still no vin for me and my build date is 2/5

Waiting on me ‘18 screw magnetic to show up. (loaded except graphics and accent colors)
It is my understanding that the VIN is the first thing produced when the order is actually accepted and scheduled to build- is that not true?

Tonight, I'll spend some time going through the forums to get an understanding of Ford Performance's ordering system... I'm confused to why some who placed orders since the summer have no movement and others who placed orders a month or two already have build and delivery dates?!
I'm with you, sort of confusing. I think the difference is some people are placing orders without their dealer having an allocation and waiting for the allocation to then be picked up. Others are placing an order with the allocation locked and loaded and thus get their VIN and build date very quickly (immediately?)

I have a submitted order with deposit to my dealer as of earlier this week. They don't have an allocation (just spent theirs for December), but hopefully will get filled in a a few weeks with January allocations. I am told that is when I get the VIN and build date and we can extrapolate the delivery.

I spent the better part of 20 years in sales management of Ford dealerships in the Midwest. I am no longer in the business but I recently ordered a 2018 Supercrew in Leadfoot, the dealer placed the order Dec 20th. The size of the dealership has something to do with how the allocation is received from Ford. Larger dealers are awarded units based on turn time and overall volume where smaller dealers are usually only awarded 1, maybe 2 specialty units annually. The dealer I placed my order with is a small dealer (planning volume under 100 new units/year) and he told me he received 1 Raptor allocation in both 2014 and 2017 if he wanted them. He ordered both years and sold them to larger metro dealers and made his profit through wholesale networks. This year however he was told he had allocation "only for a retail order" and the retail order had to be placed prior to March 1st, 2018 or he would lose it and it would be awarded to another dealer. If you were to find a dealer with open allocation that has a scheduled build week for the current wholesale period then you would receive a vin and build date quite quickly whereas in the case where I ordered my truck it may take up to 6 weeks to open the allocation slot and get a vin# assigned to my order. Hope that clears a few things up.

For what it's worth (it was for a 2017), I ordered my SCREW 9.2 and didn't get a VIN til December. She was built 2.12.17 and delivered to me 3.2.17. I was #2 of #4 allocations and thankfully, paid sticker and nothing else. Definitely worth waiting.

I too ordered my truck on Dec 20th. Small-ish Midwest dealership, no other orders ahead of me so from what I can tell, I'm #1 in line for allocation. Was told whole process should take around 10 weeks from order to delivery but I'm not holding my breath. I didn't order any CF or BLs so that should help. Checked status through FP on Friday and I'm still in Unscheduled-Clean status.

I ordered both CF and BL's and was told there were no commodities tied to retail orders so all equipment was fair game. CF and BL's are both on control for stock orders and the twin panel roof had been holding up some non Raptor stock order as well. Just an FYI of what I was told in case you wanted to add CF or BL's

I agreed to terms on mine on 10/30 - order was accepted by Ford on 11/15 - with a build date of 1/9-1/13 . Checked last week, that just slipped to 1/27-2/2 (sigh). no reason for the slip, dealership has said it has happened to several of their builds.

here's the Ford info:

2018 F-150 - VIN 1FTEX1RG6JFB84950

**EDIT**
Mine is a scab - loaded with everything but orange accents and roof. I do have CF, but no bed liner, bet it's the CF holding it up

Ordered mine thru small VA dealer on December 8th with order number 4801, their allocation was already in production so I am left waiting. Just checked on Ford Performance Parts Chat and am still Unscheduled-Clean.

Go to Ford Performance Parts and use the WhosOn Live Chat link in the upper right corner. Give them Last name on Order, Dealer number and Order number, I had no luck with Facebook.
