King 3.0's or Fox 3.0's for a more compliant ride?

Hey fellas,

OK, so Im "that guy". I need a pickup truck for work. I do NOT need a raptor. BUT....I LOVE LOVE LOVE my raptor. I often drive to NYC for business and cruising along the FDR drive is a pleasant experience in the Raptor. Likewise, I drive to job sites, often over broken pavement with many potholes.
While I think the current OE ride quality is great (much better than my previous GMC Denali), I think there is still room for improvement. I'm considering adding +2 Deavers in the rear. I'm also toying with the idea of adding either King or Fox aftermarket shocks, to take advantage of the improved, higher quality/quicker valving, etc.

So the question is, do you think the on-road comfort with be increased or decreased with King or Fox?

Kings front C/O at a 0 compression setting are as on road compliant as stock IMO with the added benefit of a smoother feel over dips, speed bumps and Starbucks curbs. You have 30 more clicks of compression from there to stiffen up the shock to suit your offroad needs.

Deavers are a must for a smoother ride and decreased axle hop.

Sounds like a solid endorsement. Thanks

I just got the 3.0s. I deal with the same lovely roads up here. Should have them installed in 3 weeks. I'll report back, I've been told they should very comfortable for daily driving on my GEN1.

On my gen 1 I added KING 3.0s up front and have the +2 Deavers in the rear. Great setup and starting point for further modifications!

I also pass through NYC in my Raptor, as do several other forum members. Deavers are a MUST. As is proper tire inflation. I think I'm currently running 38f/36r. Maybe less.
