Hey everyone,

I just purchased a 2014 Roush Raptor with 58K miles last week. Any road trip advice as far as maintenance I should have done before? Or anything to look out for while driving?

I would greatly appreciate any help!

Make sure to invite your mother in law, JK.

Check your tire pressure, new wiper blades, and maybe pick up some MREs for those quick meals in between stops.

Check the battery, change the coolant, oil, filter, power steering fluid, flush trans and service differentials, check the brakes
Great truck to take on a long trip. I went to Canada this august put 2800 miles. Loved every second of it.

Totally not trying to be a **** but if I was going on a 5,000 mile road trip I'd rent a minivan.

;)
First of all I would fly but if I am driving, Raptor for sure. You have to put a gun to my head to drive a van.

You have GOT to be joking!!!! If that is your feelings for the truck I assume it is listed in the For Sale section, damn man!

Seriously, all above great advice. We drive our Raptor on vacations, usually put about 3000 miles on her with the trip to the mountains. You are gonna love the comfort and ride.
Can I add a few more things to check
AR 15- for protection
Cooler- to hold ice for the Wild Turkey and coke. (Long Trip)
And camera- we gonna want pics
Have a Blast!!!!

And forgot- Congrats! Great Truck

IMPORTANT...... have your fan belt replace and take the old belt with you as a spare!
O'Rileys have the belt for about $45.00 ( Gates K061251 )
Amazon has it for $37.00.
Roush sell their belt for $90.00.
The belts are not easily available.
Check and top off fluids.
Check tire pressure , and I presumed you checked that the truck has a spare. (Spare tire are known to absent on used car)
Oil change are recommended every 5K. (Change oil)
Just as Important! CHECK to make sure you has enough gas money for 5000 miles.

Good time to run a couple of 20 oz. bottles of Techron Complete Fuel System Cleaner through your engine. Advance Auto Parts has buy one get one free deal.

Get a pack of baby wipes you are going to have a big old stupid grin all the way down and you would be drooling non stop. They call it Raptor ownership side effect.
