I kind of stumbled into Raptor ownership. I had been driving a '08 Porsche Cayenne turbo. I bought that just about a year ago to replace the 2015 Ram Power Wagon that I absolutely HATED, what a pile! So back to a truck because my search for local high end euro trash failed. The Ford dealer had just taken it in. They had it all serviced up including a new set of KO2s.

I love the sound, LOVE the suspension, what a hoot, and love most all of the interior. It is a 5.4 which even though I am coming off of a 500hp suv, seems entirely appropriate for the truck. I managed 17mpg running 350 miles through the mountains at 80 mph in a driving rain half the way, not bad!

It is my daily, the only plans so far are a shock rebuild and some fluid changes in the driveline.

This winter it will pull snowmobiles up the mountain. Next summer it will be on the jeep roads in SW Colorado on the weekends. Looking forward to the smooth ride...

Welcome! 5.4 is a good motor, with plenty of pep to play in the dirt. Enjoy!

Thanks for the welcome guys!

I am always happy to do a trail run on the weekends around here. I have been running these jeep roads for a couple decades now. I have organized weekends for both the Porsche club of America and the unofficial Mercedes G-wagen club and would be happy to help out or plan Ouray CO as a destination one weekend a summer.

I have been enjoying the truck just as it is for now, and it will likely stay pretty stock. I gave up on modding cars a long long time ago. I am a big fan of factory specials and the Raptor is unique for sure. I will probably do more dirt road exploring that I would have previously. You can make time on nasty gravel in this thing! Every other 4x4 I have ever had has you backing off WAY before the Raptor is even breaking a sweat, and I am only a few days in...

Driving it to work on the ranch tomorrow. More dirt, gravel and rough twisting pavement. The Raptor just swallows it up. So I am happy with the power so far. Pulls the pass roads with no drama, works for me.

I might in turn like to tag along on a desert run with those of you who know what you are doing. That is a new environment for me but probably perfect fun in the Raptor.

Sweet, looking forward to hanging out with you guys.
