Thanks @Zeke555 I was curious about the snow build up. Here in Central New York we get a lot and that's primarily why I was going to put these on. I want to keep the salt, slush, and road crap from packing up in my frame, rocker panels, and rear springs/shocks/breaks. I was going to put a set of flaps on the front as well and probably the rear for symmetry (though secretly in the rain I purposely aim for and love how much road spray we can throw up on the tailgating Prius) to keep it from packing in on the running board. As you know it's a pain in the ass to open the door and slip off the running board when it's all frozen in that front corner of the running board and door.
@Sano Dano Awesome! Thank you. I suppose I will mount them much like you and just close my eyes when I walk up to it so as not to see the offset!!

I have been pleased with mine where they are so far. They do get a bit of buildup of mud and snow/slush that comes up onto the running boards through the slots a bit (after a lot of buildup of course), so the location is a bit better to avoid stepping on it or rubbing it as you get in and out of the truck. I am thinking of doing a mod to them to keep them from flapping and hitting the bottom of the truck when on the highway. Kind of like how semi trucks and trailers will have chains on them to stop them from going to far back. Thinking of trying a cable with eyelet bolts or something like that.


I used a little thicker mudflap for mine. 25k plus miles and no issues. Held up great at Snoball. No build-up on the rear shocks. I'm a huge believer in these for full time use. The bottom of the rear of my truck looks like it did the day I brought it home new. Even after the mud-fest TRR 2015. Mount them up high to avoid rock strikes and forget them. Mine are mounted just about in the middle of the running boards. And yes, front flaps in the winter is a must to keep the crap from building up on the running boards.

I forgot to mention I have front and back Vortex mud flaps as well. They worked great on the stock wheels but I might have to move them out an inch or so now that I have Methods for save the side spray from covering the truck. Lol

Mine have so far survived but I see a few on here and locals that have had theirs break. I like the looks of them but will most likely go to a all rubber style down the road when mine fail.

Baja proven!

Shout out to @TheJoker... midflaps survived 4 days in Baja and worked like a champ! Only comment that I have is the mount height, mine were at 4.5" of clearance and I think I graded 200 miles of trails when loaded. I will be trimming another 1.5" for clearance. ( +3 Deavers and Fox 3.0's).

Nice! So, you remove your mid flaps for daily driving? I just keep them on year round. They don't hang down as low as the Icon ones did.

I bolted a piece of stainless angle iron to the board mounting brackets on the gen 2. They are fairly close to the front. Keeps the crap off doors and boards .Work good. I am about 2 or 3 inches off the ground. I kept them a couple inches out past the board and rounded the corner. About 12 inches wide. I figure as close the front as you can and not get into front tires is about rite. Mine are a 1/4 inch thick, sourced from a second hand shop and then cut to size

I remove for the dd. We dont have much in vegas that we need em for.

Good find on the Ryder flaps, thick and ship quick and cheaply!
