I posted a couple shots for another thread regarding hood graphics (see attached), but I will try to get some good ones with my DSLR this weekend. The hood was all one piece w/no cuts. It came out awesome! The guy is a master at his craft. Also, I included the pre-cut template for the bumper and grill coverage.

Scheduled to have pretty much everything wrapped from the rear doors forward (SCREW)

Not doing the front bumper cause it's most likely gonna get replaced by an aftermarket set up.

Bed/wheel wells are gonna get Line-X'ed and based on the suggestion of the vinyl installer, I'm gonna have the fenders (magnetic colored fender parts) Line-X'ed as well. He's gonna color match the Line-X Ultra to be similar to Magnetic vs. black.

The suggestion came from the fact that both gloss and matte wrap made the fenders look kinda like cheap plastic...plus as others have pointed out matte vinyl is pretty expensive compared to the "regular" gloss wrap. This is his 3rd G2 wrap, so I trust him. Line-X'ing the fenders doesn't increase the cost.

The price I was quoted was with me removing all that could be removed but they did not care. They also only wanted to use pre-cut PPF.
The guy in the video is a true pro 52hr total.
The amount of film needed if you only bought 60" is 47'. Xpel stealth is $2750 gloss is $1762.5.
Per my quote that makes it $71 to $91 hr.
Wrapped in vinyl it was $2500.

Also the saying "You get what you pay for" is idiotic

I am a fan of Xpel on certain applications but on something this size and price, I don't know if it's really cost effective. For full truck that's talking about at least 5% maybe even over 10% of the cost of the truck just to protect the paint. Even if you just do at-risk areas it's still a lot of money and you'll end up with lines unless you do whole panels. Plus it's money you never get back.

I got the entire front hood, fenders, grille, front and rear number, mirrors and headlines done. Then got the entire truck coated with opticoat pro plus.

Main reason for me is to reduce maintenance. To save time on keeping it clean and well maintained was worth the cost.

So can you wax, coat whatever over the top of the film?

I like the idea of doing the "Impact" area's. Might consider just rapping the whole truck to protect the sides from desert pinstripes! :wink:

Does the film have any of the advantages of the coatings? Easier to wash....

I think I missed your point. 80/hr doesn't seem unreasonable to me, lots of tradesmen charge way more than that per hour for things that matter much less to me. I don't know your shop, but if you find a good shop, you'll see they put in the time like that video.
