2011-2012 TSB, Please help.

My truck is a 2011 and is under the Tsb 680 I believe, which is where the truck will down shift into 5th gear or 1st gear and just stay there.
I've heard all kind of stories about taking a truck in with this TSB to ford only to have them simply do nothing or make it worse than before. Does anyone have a first hand experience with taking the truck in for this tsb? Also could a tune possibly fix it?

Could be a messed up transmission, caused by the TSB damage. Just a thought.

I've had two TSB experiences. One was to replace the driveshaft and the other was to replace the O2 sensor. On both occasions the work was done quickly, efficiently, and to my satisfaction.

I had mine repaired under the TSB. I believe that is now a recall though.

Yep...It is now under a recall. I got a "Love Letter" from Ford on mine. I have yet to work up the courage to let the Dealer money with my truck. Something to do with output speed sensor (OSS). "...may result in an unintended downshift into first gear." The geniuses go own to say an abrupt reduction in wheel speed may occur...well no shit!

yeah its actually quite dangerous, the whole reason i made this thread is because yesterday, i was turning right on a red, and it upshifted into 5th gear and a car almost t ***** me because i couldnt accelerate

There are a couple of different recalls. First is 16S19. The dealer will reprogram the PCM to prevent an unintended down shift from 5th to 1st. If you have a tune installed it will overwrite it. The next recall is 16N02. It is an extended warranty coverage for replacement of the molded leadframe only if it has failed. The coverage is good for 10 years or 150k miles(whatever comes first). Not all 2011-2012 trucks will have the recall (mine doesn't). The dealer can check the VIN for you to make sure what applies to you.

Update: I had ford do the Tsb today. So far I've had no more issues after getting the 16219 recall done, but i've only driven it 10 miles since then. If i continue to have issues or if it has been fixed I will update the thread for others.

This may be worthless info, but here's what happened to me. My 2012 hasn't shown up on any recall/TSB stuff, but a few years ago I had an issue where my truck was violently downshifting - made all the more fun because I was flat towing at the time. I took it to the dealer and they replaced some bad sensor in the transmission and it fixed the problem.

2011-2012 TSB, Please help.
