gen 2's always spouting numbers. sure you may beat me from stop sign to stop sign but in the desert, which my truck was built for your numbers are meaningless. the gen 2 was built for the crowd that may go offroad, but may never. but for certain they will go to the mall or home depot. correction to the underperforming statement,,, meant overpriced

Of all the members on this board, your post count to value added ratio is by far the lowest.

And.....you just proved my point again :lol2:

You have nothing, no solid argument whatsoever. The Gen II beats the J1 in every way. It's not open to dispute, and yet you assclowns post in the Gen II section day in and day out trying to argue. It's over, Trump won :flipthebird:

Keep wringing your hands and praying to God that Ford releases the Gen III with a V8. That's all you have. I'll buy whatever Ford makes in 4-5 years. As of now, my Gen II is the most impressive truck I've ever had.

My comment was substantive, not personal. You added no value by simply quoting my comment, agreeing with it, and then making more weak personal attacks, which is all you know how to do.

Those are factual statements. The fact that they hurt your feelings and embarrass you doesn't change that.

Sure it does. Except braking, ride and handling both on and off road, payload, towing, real world fuel economy, reliability, longevity, sound... oh and pride of ownership -- we can't forget that one.

I'm not wringing my hands at all. I'm very happy with my truck. Now, if a 7.0 liter DOHC Gen II comes out, that would be just too cool to pass up, and I'd proudly park one next to my current Gen I. But I definitely won't sell my Gen I.

Everyone here hoping for the TTV8 realizes that it's also going to sound like shit compared to a NA V8, yeah?

I also don't get the love for the sound of the previous generation. It sounds like an ordinary V8 truck. Not bad, but there's nothing unique about it.

I'm leaving this NA V8 for the TTV6. It's the way of the world, until everything is electric.

Totally agree! I posted this in another thread a few months back. I had a 2014 Raptor. Loved the truck and took it through some serious shit while duck hunting in the winters. But the stock exhaust was nothing extra. Sure didn't rumble or burble like I would have expected. Sounds nothing like a Dodge truck exhaust. It sounded like Ford tried to keep it quite. I was very disappointed in the sound of the 6.2, especially after coming from a Gt500 which had a smaller V8. That being said, the V8 Raptor had way more sound potential and could be made to sound killer, if you spent the money.

I have a Jen2 now. Incredible truck but the exhaust does suck. Sounds just like a CPC V6. And there is no room to improve it. It will always sound like a CPC V6. I hate the bumble bee sound. The Jen2 (while running) is a better overall truck (I didn't say dependable). This is coming from someone who has had both Jen1 and Jen2 and put them through their paces.

Note - The Jen2 will likely have reliability issues. Its just to damn complex. So many connections and piping and supporting OEM mods to allow it to run as a TT. When I look under my truck at the engine I just wonder how long its going to be before something blows out. The 6.2 liter was a simple NA design and its proven and not a lot of extra overhead for failures.

Also, the damn wastegate actuators on the Gen2 Turbos are driving me freaking nuts. Nobody seems to report that as being a nuisance and possible issue. They rattle like a son of a bitch. If you place your hand on the actuator and wiggle it up and down (Both turbos) there is a small spacer or something that has lots of play and it slaps back and forth. This is the rattle you here when the wastegate opens. Im going to take a video and post it. Others are having this happen to them. I just dont think its normal. I wonder if its a design flaw or if its required play tolerance?

If you weren't on the losing end of it you'd be spouting the same numbers and you know it.
