If you plan to spend money on an exhaust there is no power to be made after the cats. The stock system is using 3.0" diameter tubing. The aftermarket catbacks are likely the same. Why spend the money on the piping if it is the same. Just replace the muffler.

A flat 6 is a totally different engine. Apples and oranges different.

I was reply to the dude who says you cant make a 6 cyl motor sound good. Obviously the flat 6, air cooled, short exhaust is not the same as the high tech v6.

But other 6 cyl I've owned sounded fine to me too, B5 S4, C32 AMG, etc

This is the 2nd dumbest ongoing debate, only 2nd to "Is the v8 coming back".

This truck wasn't coupled to 3.5HO to win over exhaust connoisseurs... it was coupled for every reason but that one. If you don't like the sound, too bad... it won't get much better.

I don't care about the sound personally, but rather the ultimate dynamics and performance of the truck. It's still a truck... it's not a GT350.

And with all due respect, there are a few good sounding 6-pots... besides the 911, there are a whole host of inline 6's that sound freaking wild.

Amazes me how some people think changing the exhaust will help them get 2 cylinders at the tailpipe.

Closing my eyes and playing any of these clips and it sounds exactly like the neighbor kid's Honda pulling in at 2am. Not amused then, not amused now.
