I picked up my Raptor Sunday and drove it 1k miles home after picking it up. Reason I had to drive 1k miles home, i got a better deal in DFW than Phoenix. MSRP than the $10-$25k over they are asking and not budging here in Phoenix.

Anyway. I am driving home, and as much as I hate to admit it, I feel asleep at the wheels driving! It was late at night, was on I-10 in New Mexico, right before the AZ border.

All I remember is I'm doing 80 and I am off the freeway left into the center median, I wake up and in a split second, but felt like eternity, I gathered my senses, realized what was happening, felt the Raptor starting to spin, took my foot off the gas but did not hit the brakes, straightened out the steering wheel, get her going straight, and merged her back on the freeway.

If it wasn't for the suspension absorbing the rough ground, there is no way I could have got her back under control. Thank GOD no one was with me, near me or worse!!! I am very thankful and it woke my ass right up for the rest of the way home! After I cleaned my short up, I pulled over and gathered my thoughts, looked around the truck, no damage, and gave thanks to God!

I made it home and have my new baby in her new surroundings. Besides this mishap, what a joy it was to break her in on her maiden voyage home! I am still in shock just how much power this truck has from a 3.5 V6! And I love everything about her.

While I'm certainly glad that both you and the truck are okay, I have to admit that I'm jealous that you were able to find an MSRP deal in DFW... I live in DFW and had to go to Detroit to find an MSRP deal. Dammit.

Looks great (best color IMO). Sleeping and driving is never a good deal. Good thing your OK and nothing happened. Also congrats on not paying over. There ARE trucks available @MSRP or better.
I plan on using a dealer I did not buy from for service that is over 90 min away just because the local guys wanted the Raptor Ransom $. I did not even buy from them because they had no allocations left, but they sold all of there Raptors for MSRP and not over. Offered me a spot on there '18 list at MSRP, but I'm not waiting since I found a MSRP deal 3.5 hours away. These dealers want to rip off customers so I'm never going to use them for anything- ever. People don't forget.

Wow that was a butt pucker moment for sure. I've driven that route a few times. When you get into NM/AZ it's late and you are sick of driving. That's the time I get a 5 Hour Energy or coffee.

I'm down in Tucson if you ever want to meet up and go driving.
