it's good to see that a lot of others are fed up with this overall experience. i'll admit i went a little overboard and resorted to yelp and google to rant on these dealer practices, but at least i'm trying to do the best i can to share my experience beyond these sites that really only enthusiasts ever see.

i am now over the raptor (and ford for that matter) and am considering a tundra tss or trd pro. so far, the toyota dealership sales experience has been FAR superior to the ford one. after visiting dealerships of multiple brands, the ford ones were the worst. it's really too bad, this used to not be the case.

I considered the Tundra before the raptor. The TRD supercharger is NOT made anymore as they are all not Flexfuel units. They only work on NON-Flex fuel vehicles and that is all toyota is making now. So if you want a supercharger, you need to go with an older Tundra.
Secondly, so you know. The pro's just have a new suspension and a stamp. That's it. I have owned toyotas for the past 15 years and love them. The issue is that they are 5 years behind ANY tech curve around. That simple. Look at the interior screen and ability to do anything. Top of the line tundra is upwards of 60k. The screen between the gauges is 2 inches MAYBE and doesn't hardly display anything.
One of my best friends is the service manager at a local Toyota dealer. They, Toyota, knows they are behind the curve. They just licensed out the FORD SYNC software and tech for upcoming tundras and trucks. So they are trying but need to play A LOT of catch up right now.

I traded my 2014 Tundra Platinum in on my Raptor. And I will echo what you have said. The tech in the Raptor is SO much better. My Tundra didn't even have a remote start from the factory and I had every option available!

That said I loved my Tundra. They are great trucks. I pulled my 9k lb boat around with no isses at all and put around 55k on it. The only thing I did to the truck was the recommended services. Toyotas are just plain and don't have the cool factor. They are really reliable and hold their value well though.

I'm not missing the Tundra at all though. The Raptor is better in every way, and I'm not just saying that.

I traded in my 2008 Land Cruiser with 170k for the raptor. Still have a 1984 LC FJ60 at the house. So yeah, I get the 'toyota factor' thing :)

Thanks for the kind words everyone. No doubt there is another Raptor in my future but it will never again be a first model year with so many new components. If the CEO (or his people) respond to my letter I'll certainly post it here, but not holding my breath. You'll get a kick to know that first thing this morning the dealer called to tell me the ETA is now Jan 24. WTF?! I'm so over this, if they called and told me it was in right now it wouldn't make a difference, done.

As an aside, everything happened so fast yesterday that it didn't even dawn on me that the Ram I chose was the same color as my bush plane. Too cool. :)

trd pro is like 47-50K, also has a custom exhaust and leather. however, it's a basic SR5 package, which is actually what i kinda like about it. it's all about the truck. plus you can get one for sticker or under easily (big plus).

and yes, i know toyota is behind the tech curve. the tech is always cool at first and then i find i never use 90% of it nor do i even figure out most of it. it's better for passengers, but again, most of the time it'll just be me driving it to and from work.

i really did want a raptor, believe me, but they aren't worth what they are selling for, not even worth sticker IMO. sounds like they have some issues too, no thank you. i bet in a year or two the frenzy will be over and you'll be able to get one for a reasonable price but i can't wait that long unfortunately.

Your choice. I don't see a single 'has issues' situation at all. Might want to check your sources. I have beat the hell out of mine and run it hard and in 2500 miles, not a single issue.

just a few things i've read on here. could just be isolated issues, who knows. i'm glad you are enjoying your raptor, i wish i would have been able to get one at a reasonable price. unfortunately, the ford stealerships around here are all terrible and the experience isn't worth it to keep hunting. i'm sure i'll try again in a few years to see if things have changed, but not counting on it. unless you are just lucky or you are such a fanboy that you don't care about wasting money, it's way too much of a hassle for a glorified f-150 IMO.

Looks similar to this Alaskan plane of a friend of mine...
