I did a side by side comparison on Friday, when I went to view a Raptor that had just arrived at a nearby dealer. The bar that is indeed behind the front wheel wells on the 2016 F150's is not there on the Raptors. I was very disappointed to find this out, because my dealer never said that this vehicle didn't have it. I have pictures, and will try to post them later. That was one of the features that I was excited about getting. So much for that!

Why would just this bar make such a big difference between a cab remaining in tack vs crumbling like a soda can?

I'm glad to see this issue is getting some traction.

The problem is that Ford is advertising these as having a 5-star rating when it was clear from the tests that were done on the '15 and '16 F150s that these crash bars were what made the difference in the truck passing or failing.

Hard to say, but it clearly made the difference in the back to back tests of the '15 and '16 SuperCabs with and without the bars. My guess is that they deflect the truck just enough that the cab doesn't get smashed.

Ford's advertising was based on government testing, not IIHS. I don't like the way D.O.T. Does the front crash test. Running the whole front into a wall is not what happens in the real world very often.

I hope someone from Ford can address this issue.

35" tire clearance/suspension articulation
#captain obvious
Why is a 35" tire not a problem on the regular F150, then, captain obvious?

BTW, why are you making excuses for this after you pitched an absolute fit, as I see, on another forum two years ago about the exact same issue. How many posts in how many topics was it? You said that Ford should retrofit all the '15 super cabs?

Even a few days ago, you were whining about this over there.

I guess getting bit twice in a row by the same problem does make one want to compensate.

WOW. This could be a big deal.

That speed test was only at 40mph. In a truck, I would expect to be alive if I hit a pole or something at 40mph. But after watching that video of the Scab, I dont think you would be. And if thats what all G2's are like then thats just unacceptable by Ford. I hope I'm wrong on this though.
