He only had about 100 cameras on that thing. We should be able to see everything once they upload the video. If they upload it.

Ford had a 3D setup on the hood so we should get a cool interactive video.

So after watching the replay I didn't see any 5 hour stop. I saw what appeared to be him helping out one or two of the other drivers near the beginning which set him behind. Either that or they were stuck behind someone who failed to move on from that point.

Only three of the five stock trucks finished. Another great achievement to finish the race.

This is what I'm hearing to. He actually stopped to help people.

If that's the case and true. One is that's cool, and two Ford obviously didn't care about anything other than making a commercial out of this, which is also fine but it would've been nice to see it actually compete..

Does anybody know what happened to the Gen1 truck? Was it the truck that turned back shortly after it started?

No clue on the G1, but the cameras were a pretty huge clue that this was about the finish and the experience.

To be fair, Ford "should" get some marketing out of this, otherwise it probably isn't worth the investment of time / resources, which doesn't even consider the risk of laying a **** on the course.

Out of 270 total about 95 did not finish (DNF)

Gen2 came in 142nd overall, 3rd in its Full Stock class ( 5 started 3 finished) 35:59:08

Hummer – 115 overall, 1st in Full Stock Class– 32:13:58

Toyota – 117 overall, 2nd in Full Stock Class – 32:28:58

1 Dodge truck DNF

CORRECTION : 1 Ford driven by John Gonzales DNF (is this the GEN 1 some are looking for?)

Yeah, I think Ford just wanted to finish rather than going hard and risking a DNF. Wouldn’t look good for a the new production Raptor.

One of the stock dodge wasn't by chance the Rebel TRX was it?

I would think the other 200 DNF probably "raced" to win. That is a huge difference than just trying to finish for last. It was cool though that they helped others get unstuck.

Also believe the Toyota is a Land Cruiser, Hummer an H1, Don't know what the Ford is.

Thanks for the summary guys. I was not as adept at sorting it out on the score site as you guys.

The H1 is pretty well built out. Not really same class, imo. The Land Cruiser though looked like fair competition.

Like has been said, it's easy to get stuck behind other people's accidents and breakdowns on some of the stretches. Plus tons of sand - and ruts and holes much deeper than the Raptors running clearance - so plenty of opportunities for just plain bad luck.

If Ford were really after speed, they'd run multiple entries. They just want to finish.

What I hate about these races so far is that apart from maybe a video or a tweet or two from Ford, they will pretty much forget this happened. It would be great to get a real rundown of what happened but we'll never get it. It would be super cool if they'd say 'hey we kept breaking this bit or that so we've beefed it up for production.' Also not going to happen.

Cameras were definitely not on for the race they did a media run through the wash before the race started.

I can't even begin to explain to y'all how difficult Baja is and how big of a deal just finishing is. I'd guess 75% of the teams are there to finish not win so it's not a race mode vs finish mode deal.

The course is brutal. Chasing the race is brutal. It is not an easy feat for any team to finish much less one in an essentially stock truck. None of the other stock fulls were nearly as stock as the gen2.

How do I know?? 45b4ab133b25636d99af6376215a4a41.jpg
