Been working on this one for the last couple months. Wanted to post up some pics of it. Testing is done and final install will be next week- just making everything look pretty.

Modular design- can be used as dual with jack mount in the middle ect or triple stand up OR single lay down with out the removable center bars- fits under covers this way

Bolts into 4 front factory bed bolts and additional holes are drilled in the rear

Built from 1 3/4 dom tube

With everything removed 95% of the bed can be used

This prototype uses cantilever shock set up incorporated relocating shocks into the bed. 16 in of travel from the stock length 12 travel shock. Links pass through a small hole in the wheel well. Frame connectors are used to reinforce everything

New lever set up with bearing/race- no more bushings to wear out

This cage will be offered with or without cantilever shock set up. Traditional long travel with shocks mounted forward will also be an option.

More pics next week

Interesting.
Have you already fabbed up the push rod to rocker off the backside of the axel?

Yes, I will have all the pics next week. Everything came back from powder monday so I have to put it all back together.

That looks pretty familiar... Woolworth did this same design 6 years ago

Cantilever shock set ups have been a round for a long time. Indy cars and formula 1 have been using it for ever. There are many various to accomplish certain things. That design you posted I have never seen but is similar to others- thats a tube chassis with nothing in the way- pretty simple. My design moves the shocks into the bed to protect them while gaining 16 in of travel out of a 12 travel shock from the lever ratio. At the same time is incorporated into a bolt in bed cage that carries spare tires and other equipment.

Relocating the rear shocks gains you ground clearance and protects your expensive shocks from damage. Makes it nice and easy to adjust them also

Benefits of this setup vs bypass rack?

This uses a 12 travel shock (factory replacement) rather than a larger 16 travel so if you have 3.0s already no need to buy shocks. You wont have to cut the huge holes in the front of the bed.

This bed rack is designed to be used as a bypass rack also so you have that option.

It turns into personal preference really. Both work the same at the end of the day getting the same travel.
