Brainstorming Potential IWE Solution

it wasnt me. it was the other guy.

electronically speaking, the ideal solution is to get the proprietary info from ford. reprogram the computers and turn all the crap off. the fact that ford doesnt allow us to turn this junk off is just lame. i speak from experience on that one. my truck is in the shop again to try and fix this 4wd issue. i need a solution to my 4wd system. it hasnt worked since i bought the truck new. im open to ideas.

For my 2010; can't speak for other years or trucks, with fuses #36 and #47 pulled from the Power Distribution Box; ABS, RCS and trailer sway control are all deactivated. I have had them pulled for five or so years, putting them back when I need low range or the rear locker. Never have I had the ABS come back on.

I have to fix some more wiring under my truck tomorrow, I'll check on a "way to tap the rear to install a second wheel speed sensor".

Can you do the electric over like a vacuum where the vacuum is just a dummy valve so the computer thinks that is running the vacuum but actually it's running and electronic off on deal. The thing wi5h vacume is the leaking. Wonder if that guy that fixed his with copper tubing is still working.

I have 75k miles on my truck. The times I've been offroad or in the snow and used 4wd it's always engaged. I've never had a problem. Only once I've noticed the "clicking" was in reverse and turning. I've been some nasty places with it as well mud holes, steep hills. No babied it at all. I must be lucky I guess.

How do the other OEM's do it? Do one of them have a zero compromise solution?

There is no such thing as a "no compromise" each route will have its positives, and it's negatives.

You have to decide for you, what you want. There are solutions to the iwe issue. And people have had great success with them. A forum member that used to be on here way back in the day ran an rcv setup with his 37's and later 40's. He was blowing iwe constantly until he did the swap.

and FWIW the other OEM's use unit bearings aka live axle like the raptor should have used from the beginning. It just works.

Agreed, so just use the iwe eliminators from rcv. Does the same thing.

True, however he was stock travel, just 3.0s. Furthermore, he spent most of his time muddin' or rock crawling.

Some well known shops have also advised me against it. The decision is yours though.
