as a lot of you know, i have had nothing but 4wd problems with my truck since i bought it new back in november of 2013. so now its in the shop again to try to fix it again. problem now is my truck has 96k miles on it now. i talked to ford and they could not extend my warranty. they said my truck has too high of mileage. what a crock of shit. i have had a running record of my 4wd system being serviced multiple times with no solution so far. the fact that they wont extend the warranty is whats making me mad. it has not worked since i bought the truck. and i expected the warranty to cover the repairs, as it did, but the problem is they have always replaced broken parts and never got to the root of the problem. now that warranty is expiring and im at my final hope for getting this fixed, if this fails, i have to pay out of pocket to try to repair it from now on. fords solution to this, was to offer me a special discount on a new vehicle. why the **** would i ever buy another ford again?!?!? if it hasnt worked from the beginning, i expect them to make it right, not try to sell me a new vehicle. so as warranty expires, im left with the descision to get rid of the truck. i will not keep it with a broken 4wd system and i will not pay money out of my pockef to get it fixed. if this last repair does not work, i will be trading it in for something else. because ford cant fix the problem and is unwilling to provide peace of mind in case the problem returns, they have lost me as a customer. but i am just one person. they sell a vehicle every 20 seconds or whatever the number is. what they make off me is shit. they dont give a ****. just like any other manufacturer, however i have had much more luck with subaru service and warranty. so i think thats where im leaning. so in 2 weeks time, i may be in a different vehicle, and disco raptor parts may be for sale. just wish i had a working 4wd system. if anyone has a solution, im open to hear. otherwise its time to get rid of a truck i never wanted to get rid of.

Pretty vague on the 4WD issue in your post. So what is the actual issue?

grind, pop, clunk, disengage. everytime i have tried to use 4wd its the same story. first time i tried to use it when truck had 400 miles on it. never been able to use 4wd because of it. now that im in colorado, snow plays a big role so if the truck isnt going to work in 4wd, then its time to get rid of it. im not going to pay money from my pocket to just replace broken parts and still have the same issue. if 7 attempts at fixing it doesnt get to the root cause, then theres something going on that nobody can fix and the truck needs to disappear. dont know what lemon law states about this, but if the problem was never fixed under warranty, why should i be expected to pay for it after warranty expires? it has never worked. i can understand if a problem happens and is denied warranty because of something i caused, but having this issue since i bought the truck just doesnt seem right.

I recall that some traced the IWE problems to vacuum line leaks. Has the dealer measured the vacuum at the IWE to make sure that's not it?

I've had sh*t tons of issues with them as well. Mine usually works until under stress then... There goes more IWEs. Usually pay for the fixes or do the work myself. The 4x4 systems in these things are the biggest joke in automotive history... And they put them in the next Jen too.

I am working on a upgraded IWE and eventually a better control system. Looking into doing a crowd funded project to get timelines moved up, so possibly early 2017 for at least phase 1..

Maybe too late for you and how you feel, and I can definitely understand the frustration, but would hate to see you go tho bud!

I totally understand the frustration. This blows, please keep us posted on the new dealers progress towards root cause. And maybe get Kristy (FRF Ford service rep) involved if they're not convincing?
