Hi All,

After months of courtship we were able to land Falken as a sponsor for EXO. This is something we were really excited about because of our experience with the now discontinued Falken AT's. The AT's had proven themselves to be an amazing desert tire. Thick sidewalls and very resistant to chunking. Between 3 trucks running the AT's not one experienced a flat over an entire year and north of 20,000 offroad miles.

On to the review:

After mounting the tires, I noticed almost immediately that they road smoother than the old AT's. That would probably be my only complaint about the old AT's.

Off-road the tires have been just as bullet proof. Gordon and I each put 700 miles on them on our recent Return to Baja run. I was really surprised at how well they resisted chunking. After the run they did have a few slashes on the tread but nothing like other MT's we've ran. Most importantly, no flats!

They are an MT which makes drifting a little more challenging. Well at least form me since I still have the stock 4.10's with 37's. However, when you press the pedal to the floor they hook up and the truck just goes!

Tires also performed well in the dunes. Never got stuck once and probably recovered 15+ trucks. Little clip of just a few I helped out.

Happy to answer any questions you guys have. If you're looking for an aggressive MT with great on road manners and off-road performance I recommend you consider the Falken MT's.

If possible could you compare them with the Cooper Discoverer STT Pros? That is if you have experience with the Coopers.

Haven't ever ran the Coopers. The reviews I came across were soso. Sorry I can't speak from personal experience.

I'll be sure to update this thread as I put more miles on them on and off-road.

Whats your opinion on tread life and pavement road noise? Obviously they will be louder than AT tires, but ??

Tread life seems great so far. I have have about 4-5K miles on them. I'll be sure to update the thread regularly as I put more miles on them.

I'd actually say they are quieter than the old AT's. Can't speak for their new ones. I'd say they are a bit smoother/quieter than the BFG MT's.

Good to hear about the improved ride. There were a lot of complaints with the AT.

Yeah, I found them to be a bit rough on pavement. I ended up running them at 35PSI for DD which made a big difference.

This is anecdotal - but I had 3 flats while running BFG MT's. Andrew (one of our trial leads who's on every run) has had 3 flats with the Toyo MT's over a season. Not saying everyone will see the same but this is what I've witnessed/experienced first hand.

Thought I'd give an update on the tires. They continue to perform really well. We had a lot of mud on our last run through Arizona and Utah. The tires kept us moving. I was able to self recover after being stuck twice.

Still no flats between my truck and Gordon's which is huge based on how much it costs to replace tires. 260c0ae96b912e0952394520a43d290d.jpg

Falkens continue to kick ass. Put another 600 offroad miles on them since Utah and still no flats. I've rotated them once now as the rears wear faster for obvious reasons. Continue to love them.

Thank you for sharing this! I had been waiting for years to run the falken MT ever since I saw the first picture of em. I had the first gen Falken AT and I loved them. Mine were super smooth and quiet on pavement. I'll be getting a set of 35's sometimes before spring for my ranger and I'm pretty excited.

what kind of complaints? I had zero complaints with mine. best all terrain I've ever run. this was the first gen wild-peaks i had though, are you talking about the newer ones?

It was actually only the first gen ones we had issues with. We received more out of round tires than we did true tires. We had some 285/70R17's asking for 18-24oz of weight depending on how the tire was positioned. The rest were ride complaints, probably due to the fact that sidewall was about 1.5" thick lol. We got to a point where we stopped ordering them all together. I'm glad everyone has been liking them though. I've always loved Falken car tires.
