Well, a quick update. Since I called Ford Road Side Assistance from the highway they paid the towing. After I found out about the TSB, I was pissed that Ford did not notify me for two reasons. First and foremost for my safety. Imagine it stalling as you are making a left turn in front of a semi etc. Secondly if it occurs during warranty, no charge. I spoke to the owner of the dealership who basically just shrugged it off, and said, buy a new one!

After I got home I called a lawyer friend who does class action lawsuits. He basically told me it would be cheaper for Ford to pay a few death claims than a massive recall on all F150's from 09 - 14.

He put me in touch with Transport Canada. I opened a safety complaint file and an officer spoke to me. I sent him all the info I had including a copy of the TSB. He seemed very interested, since it was the first he'd heard of it. He promised to investigate and to get a response from Ford as stalling could cause major safety issues. Just ask GM!

Now waiting to see what their response is.

And, will be writing to Ford about charging for a defect that should be covered under warranty for all owners regardless of the mileage. It is their product defect, not a wear out item.

I was dropping a package off at Fedex last night and a guy in a Red SCREW was halfway out of a parking spot. Truck started and died after 5 feet. Turned over but no start. I told him it was likely the fuel pump fuse and sure enough it was burnt to a crisp.

So I went to the local dealer and picked up a kit. Tomorrow morning at 6am it be the cool part of the day at only 85 degrees here at 80% humidity. Looks simple enough. I was planning to photo document but the color photos in the instructions seem super clear.

I put the kit in today. A couple of tips.
1) Someone here recommended removing the mounting bracket. It makes it much easier to rotate the fuse block to see the wires underneath. Took maybe two minutes to remove and it was a lot easier.
2) I cut the tape holding the large loom to either side of the bottom cover of the fuse block. When it came time to retape, it's fortunate I had an almost finished roll of tape to get in and around the loom to re-tape. I had already cut the tape before I removed the bracket. Try removing the bracket and you might not need to cut the tape.
3) There is more than one blue with red stripe wire. Before I removed the mounting bracket it was hard to see where the wires started and stopped. I was concerned about making sure I cut the right wire so I removed the mounting bracket and sure enough, the wire I was about to cut was the wrong one. I saw at least two blue with red strip wires. The right one is a heavy gauge wire, same as the black wire in the kit and it's easy to trace it to the fuel pump relay. There is a smaller gauge blue with red stripe wire that goes to a relay for trailer lights. You want the larger wire.

Overall not a bad job, about an hour...joe
