Usually Ford's option packages suck. You have to take 10 things you don't want to get the one item you do want. For me the 802A looks good. Very little there I wouldn't want on my truck.
Upon a closer look at 802A, you are correct. The only things that I really don't want are the sun roof or the giant Ford tailgate emblem. The Torsen is a must have for me.

Stowable loading ramps!? That would be awesome! Did everyone know these were coming but me?

Those are probably a dealer added accessory. Aftermarket type item.

The ramps are an accessory. I have a 16 f150 and they mount on the cleats on the side of the bed. Basically hold the ramps up on the bedsides. Still kind of nice for dirtbike guys etc.

I would be pleasantly surprised if the paddle shifts up and down were super crisp on the new transmission.

New Corvette was supposed to be faster than PDK but that turned out to be bunk. Sure the automatic slushed super quick near redline, but you couldn't count on clicking the paddle and getting an immediate shift anywhere else.

:ROFLJest: I own both. Difference is the Z06 makes 770 to the rear wheels and it is very crisp and fast. Are you speaking from actual experience or just parroting what you read in the rags?

He was talking about the report that the C7's tranny shifts faster than Porsche's PDK. And your comment is "it is very crisp and fast." So how does that respond to his statement that the C7 shifting faster than the Porsche's tranny turned out to be bunk?

And as for your Z06 making 770HP to the rear wheels it clearly isn't stock.

Without diverting this thread too far on Corvette....

Actual experience, confirmed by magazines. The transmission makes very fast automatic shifts at the top of the RPM on hard acceleration, but try to click a paddle any other time and it has to think about it before it shifts.

If you drive a proper dual clutch system there is no lag, and you get instantaneous shifts up and down when you call for them. A traditional slushbox automatic (which is what the 8L90 ultimately is) simply can't match that. For an automatic it's a great gearbox but despite all the Chevy hype and claims, it's not comparable to a dual clutch. Fortunately for Chevy most of their buyers have no idea and just eat up the bogus marketing claims.

Exactly.

Well, that's it for me then. If my truck can't shift as fast as the top end Porsche, then why bother.

Seriously, this looks like it's a sweet transmission.

For this application the 10spd should be fantastic.

I'm also looking forward to the 10 speed. FWIW, I've driven the new corvette with the 8 speed and was impressed for what it was. If the 10 speed tops that in performance, I'll be very happy. With that being said, this will be the first automatic transmission vehicle I've ever purchased... and I'll be selling my C7 M7 corvette to make room. Hopefully the Raptor will still allow for a bit of hoonage haha...
