RTT and Rack Shopping - Feeling Overwhelmed

Haha nice pun. Honestly, it's just a PITA to setup and put away. One of the reasons I wanted a RTT was so I could get setup faster and I just don't really feel like it's that much easier than a ground tent. This is primarily due to how the cover comes off and goes back on, poles for the windows...

RTT and Rack Shopping - Feeling Overwhelmed

I'm running a Retrax Pro XR bed cover, with a FrontRunner Slimline rack, and a CVT Hybrid Mt. Rainier. Overall I 'd say I like the set up, but might consider a hard shell tent if I were to redo things. Also, not the biggest fan of the FrontRunner rack... it looks great, but it's a PITA to...

Anyone have the 801A that regrets not getting the 802A?

I have an 802a too, and can echo the sentiment of everyone else. Came from a 15' Tacoma so it was a huge upgrade, but having those extra amenities is really nice. Parking is so much easier with the 360 camera, and I practically remote start it every time I drive it. Thought I'd hate the adaptive...

GEN 1 What do you wish you didn’t do?

Mishimoto oil catch cans - preordered, received one can with in/out ports that weren't threaded, so I couldn't assemble everything. After getting that resolved, the instructions didn't align at all with my year truck (19), tubes that were bent in completely the wrong directions for how they...

Looks awesome, dig the wheel setup. Congrats!

Percentage of raptor owners that actually really use their trucks

Don't judge a book by it's cover. I use my truck for all kinds of stuff (mountain trips, camping, off roading, grocery runs) but if it gets dirty, it gets a bath immediately after.

How to change oil with out making a mess everywhere?

I cut off the top of a 2-liter bottle to make a little protector to keep the oil from splashing on to the top of the skid plate. It works pretty well. I've seen some disasters online... check out the Keep It Dirty Offroad YouTube channel for how to NOT change the oil LOL.

Opinions on using your trail control?

Used it a few times when off roading to see how it worked... and then learned how to better utilize it during Raptor Assault. It does surge a little bit while it's finding the proper balance of acceleration and braking. I think you just need to be patient with it. Prob not for everyone.

    Mishimoto: Stay the F#ck Away

Quick update to my last post... Mishimoto reached out to me to ask for a survey about the catch can. I told them I wasn't happy and that many others on the forums were experiencing similar issues. I asked for a refund and they sent me a USPS label. Hopefully once they get it back they'll process...

Who has the best price on a Cobb tuner

I think Cobb does an annual sale around Thanksgiving for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. That's probably the best time to get one, as others have mentioned they are pretty priced controlled.

    Mishimoto: Stay the F#ck Away

Had nothing but problems with my Mishimoto catch can. Decided to remove it and just go without. I contacted customer service a bunch, they got back to me and tried to be helpful, but everything they suggest has never worked. Hence why I just removed it. What a waste of $400.

Husky Wheel Liners 95 Bucks on Amazon

Something that worked well for me when installing these was to leave them out in the hot sun for an hour or so prior to install. Made them a lot more flexible and easier to bend into place. Definitely undo the fender flare bolts before you get started. They can be a bit of a pain, but if you...

Tonneau covers with roof top tent?

If you're wanting to keep your BakFlip, you'll probably have to go with the KB Voodoo crossbars. I have only seen pictures online so I can't give much feedback on how well it all works together. I'm running a RetraxPro XR which has t-slots in the rails of the tonneau cover for legs/crossbars...

Jack Type / Lift Points for Gen2?

Another happy Pro Eagle customer here. I went with the 2 ton “OG” version since I really only plan on using it in my garage and likely won’t need the off road tires. It’s the nicest jack I’ve down and built like a beast. Definitely get what you pay for.
