I ceramic coated my entire truck 3 times myself. Then later decided to put some graphics on hood cowl. They’ve all washed off in the rain or with washing.
That is exactly what I did as you can see in the photos. The circular plate is mounted directly to the iPhone and then the cover is placed. Just mount the circular plate initially with some tape and play with locations which will allow Qi charging to work prior to placing it on “permanently”.

I really like the product and it works...
I ruled out any adhesive based mount right out of the gate. Just like the security of something screwed in. Heard too many stories of them coming off and then having to remount with epoxy, then marring the surface. Just my personal preference. Hope yours holds up well.
