Yeah… lucky shot. I did find a video for an Expedition 3.5 Ecoboost cam phaser rattle that sounded exactly like my cRaptor. I guess I need to schedule another visit at the dealer to get it worked on.
**** Called the dealer this morning and I was told that they need to hear it happening or else...
Today my truck did it again - After being parked for 3 days, when started, the engine knocked really loud for 2-3 seconds and then it went back to normal. It has just 17k miles, I am the original owner and I fill the tank with Chevron gas only (91 octane)… I never heard the engine knocking while...
... :) Just a small correction here. I know for sure my truck wasn't running low on oil and I do keep up with truck's maintenance. When I heard about the Cam Phasers PCM update I've got it done ASAP. After the dealership performed the update, the truck manifested a rough idle almost immediately...
I did have a similar issue... I did the Cam Phasers PCM update (don't recall the exact number) and not even 2 weeks later I had to visit the stealership because of the truck having a REALLY rough idle. They performed another PCM upgrade that fixed the Cam Phasers PCM update fix, and the truck's...
Make sure you fill the gas tank with 91 octane gas at least. Also the truck learned the driving style of the previous owner and maybe he drove it soft... You keep pushing it and it will learn your driving style. Unless there are some technical issues this should do it.
I believe you are wrong: I am REALLY thinking of passing up the Gen 3 just based on look. I never purchased a car/truck before just because it "feels" good. I had to like the looks 100%.
just make sure that you get the battery to a normal charge fast… AGM batteries don’t like being low for an extended period. If the battery will no longer hold charge may be time for a new one. I was told in service that you can run into all sorts of troubles if the battery has a really low...
...The wires labeled with 5, 15, etc are coming from the Upfitter Switches and I believe the previous owner identified the number of Amps (maximum load) that those Upfitters support. It seems that you just have one switch connected. That 300Amp circuit breaker is for some serious load!
My 2 cents on it: You should get familiar with California laws before you are getting too deep into this... In SOCal even by installing off-road lights and not covering them can get you in trouble. Using non-oem lights on the streets is like asking for trouble. There are plenty of regulations...
Actually happened to me few months ago to find the tailgate open while the truck was parked in my driveway… At the time I was thinking that I just had a senior moment and started to blame the stress, the coffee, the president and the vice, the gas prices, the inflation, anything but the truck. I...
You are correct - is not normal. Good thing you have your truck checked. My 2019 gen 2 has just 7k miles and the engine never ran smooth at idle, I always felt a small vibration coming from it. After they performed the fix for Cam Phasers TSB, the engine shudder got progressively worse; luckily...
While that happened did you actually try resetting your Sync 4 and did not work? To reset you need hold down Power (or Volume for the Gen3) and Next Track for 5 seconds. I had to do that couple times on my Gen2 while I was driving and it did fix whatever crazy stuff the Sync 3 was going through.
