    GEN 1 Towing Questions

Adam, I have a 2010 scab. Tow capacity is 6000lbs. I installed the Timbren bump stops and an Andersen WD hitch. I have towed my MPG 2120 travel trailer from our home in Colorado all over the country with no issues. Trailer dry weight is right at 5000. I weighed after a trip and combined truck/...

    Winter Driving and tires

I bought Gen 1 6.2 new in 2010. The KO's and KO2 have worked well for GOING, but not for stopping. it's a 6000lb truck so on ice it just slides. I finally broke down this winter and put on the studded version of the Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT2. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! We had a heavy snow last weekend...

    Lowest mileage Gen 1 owner?

damn! Do you ever drive it? I thought mine was low at 68000. Most of that the last 3 years after i bought a travel trailer and made a couple of cross country jaunts

Options to combat sag during towing/hauling

Hi, I tow a 6000lb (loaded) travel trailer with stock SCAB. I use a weight dist hitch (just switched to Anderson) and that has worked well. I did recently add a set of Timbren SES (FR150R) bump stops. These are Rubber support springs that replace the factory bump stops. With the trailer...

    Transmission RPM change between gears

rpm change during shift I'm not sure if this is exactly the same, but mine sometimes "over revs" during a shift. It can happen anytime, but seems worse on a part throttle scenario, where it's just holding speed before the shift. I had in the dealership under warranty 2 years ago and they...

    New Owner from Boulder, CO

Hi Congrats on the truck. As far as dogs go, I purchased a rear seat hammock/seat protector from Orvis for my Raptor. I have three dogs and this keeps them in the back seat, and everything clean. I have a 2010, and the dogs go everywhere, including camping. When I pull the hammock out, the rear...

    K02's or KM2's??? That's The Question.

I have the KO2's. Just drove back from Sioux Falls SD to Colorado Springs a week ago in the big blizzard. They did an incredible job in the snow, and were exceptional on the dry pavement on the way out. They are much quieter than the original KO's, and perform much better in the snow as well. I...

    Rear end side hop

I replaced the rear shocks today. what a difference! nice and stable again. Also raised the rear about an inch. I didn't think even charged shocks would do that but they did. Next week the fronts will get done. Thanks for all the help everyone.

    Rear end side hop

I was aware of the rebuild. I am going on a cross country trip next week, and Fox could not get the shocks back to me in time. I also travel extensively for work, often on a moments notice. I didn't want to start something then get called away and leave it until the last minute. The new shocks...

    Rear end side hop

So I ordered a set of rears FOX OEM. Good price compared to what the local Ford dealer wanted. Now the question is, should I go ahead and replace the fronts as well? I'm not sure of a good way to check them on the truck. One other thing, did a quick check measuring from the ground to the fender...

    Rear end side hop

It looks like my shocks are bad. If i tap the breaks when just barely moving, the it rocks back and forth a little. Pretty easy to compress the back in by pressing on the bumper. I'm not sure i have time to pull the shocks for a rebuild, and get them back in time for a long road trip at the end...

    Rear end side hop

side hop Actually, the big bump like the median is fine.. especially at high speed. That way all four wheels come off and i don't skip sideways! Thanks for the input. I guess I'm disappointing if the springs are already shot. i suppose the shocks could be going as well. I run the tires at...
