    PD1744's Build

Tons of HF tools here. The guy that runs their media dept is a friend of the shop so just about any photo of a tool of theirs that you see in a shop was taken here. In exchange we get a bunch of free tools. If you look closely, you might recognize the truck on the Badland jack box. I do: The...

    PD1744's Build

Quick post/truck update. Been radio silent basically all year for several reasons. But life has been crazy and I've had zero time for truck stuff, off-roading, forums etc. all year. Is what it is. Last weekend I got to do a little something. Installed some Kibbetech billet upper control arms...

My Unsatisfactory Experience With Morimoto XB Headlights.

I get a good year I'd say. To be clear, I prefer the plastic trim wipe ON headlights over the headlight wipe. I'm not telling you to do that, but I've had better luck with it.

My Unsatisfactory Experience With Morimoto XB Headlights.

I like the stuff from Cerakote. Honestly I like their plastic trim wipes better than their headlight wipe. Easier to use and harder to mess up.

My Unsatisfactory Experience With Morimoto XB Headlights.

Thanks for adding to the thread. Yes ceramic definitely helps. I've got everything on both trucks coated in ceramic, but it will still require maintenance with time like everything.

My Unsatisfactory Experience With Morimoto XB Headlights.

Haven't circled back to this thread in a while. I think ultimately the issues were on the truck side more than the headlight side. New plugs, checking the wiring, and being more careful with the application of dielectric grease and I've had not issues regarding function in a long time. The new...

    Rebuilding a 6.2 Engine

I had to look back for this one but according to post #116 I went with Melling here as well. I wouldn't have any issues running OEM though. For anything really.

    Rebuilding a 6.2 Engine

Bahaha. Bruh, when/if I ever decide to tear into an automatic transmission I'm sure that will be a hell of an adventure. I've not had any time this year to wrench or get in the dirt with my now job, but I've gotten to do other cool truck stuff so I guess it evens out.

    Rebuilding a 6.2 Engine

    I used Melling valve springs.

2013 bad engine, best reman option

I don't think there were any glaring weaknesses. The thing is stout. The cylinder that was lost had a small crack in it, so we sleeved it. Engine came out of my buddy's truck. He lost it after his first tune up, so he caught it quick. It bent the rod. Piston grenaded. So I guess that could be...

2013 bad engine, best reman option

My engine rebuild has actually been completed for a year new. It's just been sitting on the stand at my dads shop. Plenty of engine shops in that area as this is NASCAR country. I used Poteat's in Kannapolis. I'd use them again or Kannapolis Engine Services (who's also one of the Poteat boys)...

2011 Raptor with no fox shocks or Aux switches?!

At first glance it looks like a Frankenstein of a truck. But what I believe this is, is one of the Border Patrol spec trucks.
