Mine had the similar hole(s) no noise though. I found it when @Gumby and @Bozz replaced all the shocks and springs a couple weeks ago.

I do have them wired to my reverse lights.

I have the Rigid D Series flush mount, diffused and have no issues at all. Also, @Gumby and @Bozz helped to put new springs (eibach/Icon) and shocks last weekend so the lights sit a bit higher but did not affect the camera at all. I also replaced the reverse bulbs with LEDs. As you can see...
