I sure hope you ended up with a Gen 3. Work for me is similar to your job, up and down oil field lease roads. I’ve owned an ‘09 Chevy 1500, ‘12 Dodge 2500, ‘13 F 150, and had to do ball joint/wheel bearing repairs on all of them. Get ya something built for lease road punishment and never look back!
If it’s means anything, I have a ‘22 code orange with 35” open countries and I love it to death. Paid $80K for it and never looked back. You’ll get annoyed with the amount of times you’re at the pump with a Raptor R. I know I did with my TRX. That is if you daily your truck like I do.
My ‘22 just experienced the “trailer fault” last week after getting a full detail wash. Not sure why it popped up, but it did it for about 2-3 minutes and then went away. It hasn’t done it since. I constantly have issues with my SYNC setup though. Ever since the new update came out...

35x12.50x17 Toyo Open Country Mt’s
17x9x-12 Fuel Rebels
They would probably rub the fender flares at “full compression”. But I don’t ever plan on jumping my truck lol I never did in my TRX either. It gives the truck an overall wider perspective if that’s what you’re looking for. About 2...
I wish they offered Code Orange in the Raptor R. That’s the color I rock on my ‘22 and I’m in love with it! AMB or Avalanche also look really good too. First time in a long time that I feel a big manufacturer nailed it with the color schemes!
35x12.50x17 Toyo Open Country Mt’s
17x9x-12 Fuel Rebels
Down the line shot included.
For those who worry, it MAY throw a little bit of rocks on the side. Not sure yet, just got them installed this morning. It will definitely give an overall wider stance if that’s what you’re going for.
Thanks!
This is all very good information. A BUNCH of people color match their fender flares/bumpers to their trucks. That’s the look they’re trying to achieve. Not my cup of tea, but then again it’s not my truck. I like the thought of an agate black painted fender flares, bumpers, and other black...
Still waiting on this reply too! I’ll be putting on a set of 17x9x-12 Fuel Rebels wrapped in 35x12.50 Toyo Open Country’s on my ‘22 Raptor in 2 days and I’ll post pictures. I can’t seem to find ANY pictures of a down the line shot of -12 offset anything. So looks like I’ll be the first! Lol
It’s the Gen 3 for me. I may be bias because this is my first Raptor, but I had rode in my brother-in-laws Gen 2 and I couldn’t get over the electronic exhaust input through the speakers. Just really didn’t like that feature. Plus, the ‘22 Gen 3 has a lot of really cool options and tech in the...
Yea, I definitely notice the weight difference in the front end. That 6.2L Hellcat was a heavy SOB. I’ll be traveling back to work this Tuesday which will give me a chance to throw my Raptor on all sorts of lease roads to get a full comparison. I’m pumped!
Traded in my ‘21 TRX for this ‘22 Code Orange Raptor, and I love it! Rides just as smooth and is a sharper looking truck in my honest opinion. Glad to be a part of the community and looking forward to putting on my new wheels/tires in a couple weeks
