I have a Gen 1 and Gen 2 Raptor. The Gen 1 was the best vehicle I've ever owned and I've owned a lot so I bought another. I bought the 2011 fairly clean in 2016 with 88k miles and a T-bone accident on its record and repainted/repaired driver side doors and B pillar. You can't notice the...
Good point, our leather is perfect, but the driver heated seat element is out. One in-dash damper clicks from time to time but heat and cool work, and climate control works. Bulbs will happen. I hope to stay out of rust, in salt lake city but the air is dry so its not slush-rust-salt from the...
My wife drives the raptor 2/3 of the time, my commute is further and the mazdaspeed is fun. She would be getting the gen2 most of the time.
I'll just have to suffer through.
I bought my 2011 with 88k miles for $33,500. It has proven very robust and reliable. I've done the following maintenance and nothing more.
Oil when the computer says under 20%, motorcraft semi-synthetic and motorcraft filters.
Two shock rebuilds by Forged

I had maxxis bighorns, they were awesome in the mud but did get slippery in ice. Some tire change places will store and swap "winter" wheels any time for free if you buy "snow tires" from them. May be a good way to have someone else do the work and storage if you buy the tires through them.
Replaced the wheels. $1300 local, super excited about the look. Needed tires, already sold my Maxxis Big Horns for $400 and entertaining selling my OEM SVT wheels. Can't believe the ride quality and noise improvement.
I just got some quiet tires for the first time and started noticing a grinding noise from the rear wheels under heavy braking. It happens, for example, when going to the bottom of my neighborhood (steep downhill) stopping at a stop sign.
If I'm normally flat-ground driving it would only...
For those of you expressing concern about 2017 tries on a 2014 Raptor, 7450lb gross vehicle weight vs 7050, that doesn't seem much different, around 5%.
Does anyone change tires when they put gravel in the bed, or put 2 adults with boots on in the back?
How often are we at max gross...
Why would you trade it in? Sell it for $5k to $10k more. It only takes a little more effort than making your original post. Even if you spend a half day with someone you're making like a $million a year that day.
I have 4 35x12.5 maxxis bighorns with 50% tread. Looking to trade someone for ko2s.
Or just looking to buy a set of ko2 in 35 with or without wheels.
Salt lake area. We travel to Moab and st george frequently though.
97k miles, first suspension service of any kind.
Replacing upper control arms with stock replacements, boots were destroyed, probably had 1/8" vertical play in joints.
Replacing lower ball joints with Moog, stocks have some play but look pretty good.
Replacing all CV boots with silicone from...
