The issue is not the latches so spraying the latches won't help, the issue is the moisture inside the cable housing. You use force to pull the cable one way through the cable housing when opening the door but there is not enough force within the handle to pull the cable back through the frozen...

spraying the latch will not solve the problem most people are having. Clearly, it will avoid the actual latch itself from freezing but the problem addressed in the TSB is unrelated to the latch itself freezing. The TSB addresses the moisture being allowed to enter the inner door and get trapped...

you can also ask them to connect your truck to their IDS and check for the latest PCM update. IDS will prompt the tech to update once it's connected. I did the update in house (have IDS for a fleet) and the improvement in shift quality was very apparent. Update only takes a few minutes to process.

When I first saw that TSB I laughed. It's a good one. Cut some heater hose and clamp it to the cross bar.....lol. Almost as bad as some of the steps in the door latch freezing TSB.

I think it has more to do with transitioning from above freezing to well below freezing and moisture content in the air as well as condensation in the door. You may be lucky or you may have a better sealed door or maybe you have extra grease somewhere that everyone else doesn’t. I had a 17’...

The TSB is almost entirely created to waterproof the door. At the tail end of the TSB, they have the tech spray lubricant down the cable housing from the inside end even though the straw on the lubricant can won't get anything in the housing as it is too large. Then they want the tech to source...
