GEN 1 Rear suspension options with Fabtech lift kit

What a PC way to put it. I'm impressed with the more mature FRF. This is all hear-say, so take with a grain of salt, but I believe the Fabtech requires cutting and welding. That makes it very difficult to reverse. The truck may be ruined, at least in the front. You can probably trade it in for...

    EXO / BAJA / LaPaz

Looks like a great trip. I was supposed to be on that, but J and I got our wires crossed and it didn't work out. EXO always puts on a good event.

    Cantilever kit

I have never seen anyone with RPGs kit in the wild, but I have seen people with other kits. In my experience, they tend to work great while they are working, but also tend to have more issues/breaks. Conceptually they are very cool, but I really think you would just be better off with a...

    Hello from San Diego

    Welcome from San Diego :)

Hey all, happy to join you. This is my new to me 2013, 66k, F150 Raptor. Looking for recommendations on running boards and winch bumpers.

Welcome. Running boards is an interesting question. The stock ones are so good I rarely see anyone remove them. They are body mounted though, so if i was going to replace them I'd look for some that bolt to the frame. Just some tubing would do. As far as a winch, don't. They weigh too much in...

    37 inch tire change

I'm the largest advocate of 37s, but don't put 37" tires on a street truck. They weigh more, lower your gas mileage, and throw off your speed-o [without tuning] with no benefit. 37's give you more contact patch and help you stay on top of slightly bigger chatter while off-road.

    CB Radio Dash Wiring

My VHF (more useful off-road than CB) radio is mounted under the glove box with the mic mounted to my GPS mount on the dash center speaker. The antenna is running down the D-pillar, behind the back seat, and up the passenger side. The door sills (the plastic bit that pops off) have wiring...

2019 Mustang GT or 2019 Raptor?

This is a dumb question. If you will actually off-road and use the Raptor for what it is made for, Raptor is the answer. Otherwise, Mustang is the answer. Really @CruiserClass has the correct answer. For off-road, Raptor has one competitor (TRX) and Raptor is probably the correct choice. For...

    Anyone running 37x13.50x17?

Ahh...either way. Both have their advantages. The stock ones, as you know, are a very flexible plastic. That makes them easy to trim and if the tire, rocks, sticks, etc. hit them lightly they'll flex and scratch. Fiberglass doesn't have the same flex as the stock ones. I don't have the ADV ones...

    Anyone running 37x13.50x17?

Yeah, just the fronts. They are based in San Diego, so it is pretty convenient. Liners are worth talking about though, I use stock liners and have had a couple ripped out. They are cheap enough to replace though. One major issue is the wiring harnesses are attached to the top of the liner. It is...

    Anyone running 37x13.50x17?

I ran 37x13.5 Grabbers on stock rims for a minute. The sidewall rubbed the tie rod. Switched the rim to 1" additional offset over stock (can't remember what that is) and they worked great. Disclaimer: I have Fiberwerx +2/+2 glass, pinch welds smashed, and liners screwed in with self-tapping...

    Front lighting with frame-cut bumper

Do not put a light bar on top of the windshield. As you mentioned you get glare from dust on the windshield and reflection from the hood; my experience it actually makes it harder to see, which is the opposite goal of any lights. Higher lights definitely help illuminate the back side of bumps...

    Gen 1

I had same symptoms and it was just the wiring. The wiring for the transmission wraps around the exhaust manifold. If the clips break that hold the wires, they get too close to the header and melt. I wasn't able to find a new wiring harness. Dealer said they no longer make them. It had to be...

Gen 1 6.2 engine mount / motor mount replacement

You make me so happy I had mine done. Not beyond my skill, but beyond my free time capacity. A different mount on mine sheered completely off and allowed the engine enough movement to smash the headers into the frame, so I got a two-fer. Great post!

GEN 2 Name this Part # - skid plate retaining spring clip

I have aftermarket plates from RCI Off Road. They sell just the hardware kit though, although meant for for their own plates, I don't see why they wouldn't work on stock. It should have new nuts with the spring clip and bolts.
